some advice

SUGGESTION TO THE NEXT GENERATION?????.

After three days of English camp, I felt like getting
new experiences as I never been a facilitator before
this. In my opinion, every event that is organized by
any organization will have its strength and
weaknesses. For this English camp, I have no doubt
that it also have its weaknesses. First of all please
make sure all of the equipment that will be used
during the English camp is brought to the camp. In
case, you forget and left some of the kit at campus.
So my advice always prepared with the second plan. So
that you won?t feel blur when you reached the camp.
One more thing about the equipment is, if you ask the
participants to bring their own stuff which involving
the particular games, you as the facilitators also
have to make sure that you also prepare that
particular thing too.

Do not rely hundred percent on the participants. For
the game drawing blind as example, the participants
were reminded to bring a piece of long cloth as their
blindfolded a night before departure. However they are
totally forgot about that. As a solution, they have to
use the garbage plastic bag as their blindfolded.
Besides that, make sure that you as facilitators know
a bit about the place. It is because the spacious
place is important because there are lots of
participants. For this English camp the participants
are about eighty something. And we have to divide them
and choose two locations which are in hall and on the
wooden stage in front of the swimming pools. The
situation in the hall during the game was just fine
but the situation outside of the hall was a bit in
kiosk. The reason is, at first they cannot find the
suitable spot to play the drawing blind. At last they
just choose any place that can be used to draw the
pictures. In the hall we paste the mahjong paper on
the wall for those who played outside they need to
draw it on the floor.

Time management is also important in this matter. As
facilitators we must bear in mind what we supposed to
do at that particular time. Or else things that we
planned won?t be come true. As examples, we?ve planned
to make surprise to Mr. G and all of the participants.
However there is some technical problem occurred at
that time so we just sing the song without showing the
surprised presentation according to plan. One of us
tried to get the song at her room but all of people
left the hall right after she arrived. Plus we have to
check out at 12.30 p.m. I?m quite disappointed
because they practiced the movements for almost a week
and it?s really tiring. Even though it happened to us
but we don?t want it to happen again to our junior who
will be the next facilitators for the next English
language camp.

As a conclusion, what ever we?ve done in the previous
English language camp is all the best that we can do
in the limited time. So have no regret about that.
What is done is done and no turning back. All we have
to do is just make a small modification and implement
it at schools as we are teacher to be. So all the best
to all of you and congratulations. I?m really proud to
be part of COSMIC TESLIANs.

Hi Ana’s roommate….hehe

Do not rely on participant…… As a facilitator and organizer of the Camp, we are the one who should prepare with all materials. We cannot rely on the participant. This is because we are the one who plan the game, so we are the one who understand well about what to do and what to bring.

hye jay,

yes, i agreed with you that i'm also quite dissapointed during the closing ceremony. the surprised part cannot be done due to the technical problems. yet, everythings had past already. maybe in future this kind of mistakes will never happen again. never mind, since at least the emories of practicing the steps for songs was still fresh in my mind. haha.. it was fun!

Hi jay….

How are you..nothing much to say here..it’s just a little comment on the management that you highlighted in your report. Hmm…well, I am totally agreed with you about it. As we know, in organizing such program like our camp, the most important thing that we need to bear in mind is how we manage a situation that sometimes we never expect it would happen. For example, during our camp, we as facilitators wanted to make a surprise show performance to our participants as well as Mr. G but unluckily, there was a technical problem occurred and we had to cancel the show. It did disappointed all people in the camp especially facilitators itself because they had practice their best for the show however it’s only gone just like that. So for our future camp, people that will be in charged as facilitators or being the committees, please takes notes on every single thing that we cannot expect to happen. You need to always have plan B for that. Ok guys..that’s all…bye..
