My advice to the next batch superstar?

Assalamualaikum and hello to everyone?

A very large amount of energy is needed to handle a big event like English camp. Everyone must be united and cooperative. When things go wrong, don?t just blame certain people, have a seat and discuss professionally. More to the point, as a facilitator, we need to be firm and alert of things around us. Any changes will affect the whole camp so we need to be wide awake of that.
Throughout the camp, I have learnt that everything must be done accordingly or we might lose time to perform what we have planned. However, we must remember that though we have planned well, God?s planning can never been defeated. In that case, we must be able to leap in according to the situation. In short, we must not only prepare plan B but if possible plan C that might be the saviour for unexpected circumstances.
Other than that, strategy is one of the main factors in promising the smooth movement of the camp. The strategy must not only come from the committees and the top administrators? level only but also for each and every one of the facilitators. Let say a facilitator was asked for something by the participant and at that time she/he is the only facilitator available. If he/she do not take a quick action, he/she might deliver a bad impression to the participants and will be considered failed. So, he/she needs to have strategy or should be ready to face that kind of situation.
Last but not least, the punctuality. As facilitators, we look a lot like teachers. Thus, we need to show a good example if we want our students to perform what we want them to do. It is the same in facilitating, as a facilitator you need to always be on time. However, do not teach your participants as if you are teaching your students. Always bear in mind that your participants might be older than you and even they are younger than you the best way to approach them is by becoming their friend. You might use the personality as a teacher to come close to them but do not ever teach them. Facilitating and teaching are two different things. My advance good luck to all the next batch superstars! Be the best, beat the rest!

hi ana..

i extreemly agree when you say punctuality is the key factor to the supposedly success of our camp. i guess what happen there was the facilitators were the ones who couldn't be on time for most of all activities. it was quite obvious during t.p.r..but what's done is done. just hope that in future, if we have to organize camps for our schools, puntuality will be observed accordingly..

Assalamualaikum..
Dearest Ana,
I agree that as a future teacher, being a facilitator for the camp does not mean we need to teach the participants. We need to facilitate them to do something, not to teach or treat them as our students. There are differences between participants and students. We should beware about this..mm..well. i received a love letter saying thanx and she said that i am a good helper..mm i still wonder, am i a helper or facilitator?mm..but ana, i know you know that answer, right? o.k, that's all from me.God bless you..

Assalamualaikum,

Dear my roomate....thank you for being such a nice and understanding roomate for about almost three years in UTM. i am abselutely agree with you about cooperation. We as facilitators need to be cooperate when organizing an english language camp. Without cooperation everything will be in mess.We also need to be firmed.Blamming other people is not the solution. So we better think about that and try to find the solution for every problem. I think that is better.

yes!!everyone must be united and cooperative.we have to work together as a team so it is useless of being selfish or blaming others.sometimes,we cannot control our emotion but do not show it in front of participants.everything can be discussed in nicer way.we have learnt many things from this camp.therefore any comments, suggestions and recommendations should be taken into consideration.hopefully everything will be okay..

hello my friend,
i think i agreed with some of your points. yes, in organizing such big event we must have proper strategies in order to make our camp success. we do have our own strategies, yet it still can be improved in future. however, we did our camp very well i suppossed. congratulations to us!

Dear Ana…
I absolutely agree with you about the punctuality that we as facilitators need to have while organizing such program like our camp. As we know, we are not only being facilitators for our participants, but also we are the one who can be their role model in the camp. If facilitators do not bother about being punctual in any slots in the camp, it is not possible if our participants will not respect us and they might assume that it is ok if they come late to any slots that we have prepared for them. So please bare in mind about the punctuality for those who will involve in future camp..ok..that’s all from me…thank you.
