Advises for the Next Semester Students

Assalamualaikum and hello to everyone J
After having experiences conducting a language camp, I got many things in my mind that we should consider and beware about. There are about 12 games involved in the language camp. I know that it is not easy for facilitators, for us to remember every rule and step to play the game but we need to bear in mind that we should be able understand all the games properly. We need to study the game before come to language camp and ask questions if we do not understand earlier or during discussion. The owner of the game should prepare all the items used for the game earlier and do double-check in order to avoid any problems happen. As facilitators, we should be open-minded and flexible accepting any changes or unexpected situations, for example our game is postponed to next day due to some problems. In this case, we should understand the situation and should not feel disappointed or angry.
During the camp, I couldn?t deny that all of us are very tired and really exhausted. This feeling sometimes disturbs our emotion. It comes to anger and high tempered. If something wrong occurred, we will easily get angry and loss controlled. In this situation, we should be professional and try to face any challenging with opened heart.
In any programs punctuality is important.  We told participants to be punctual, and in the same time we should come earlier too. As a facilitator, we asked participants to obey the rule, to be disciplined. However we sometimes forgot that we should do the same thing too. I think that?s all from me. Good Luck for our juniors J
Wassalam. Bye.

Dear Liza…

I am extremely agreed with your view on professionalism. This is a very important principle in becoming a good facilitator. Being professional means you are able to cope with chaotic situations and pressures not only from the participants but from the facilitators as well. Consequently, for the future facilitators, make sure you prepare yourself not just physically but also mentally and psychologically.

assalamualaikum.....

dear liza, i'm also agree with you about the game rules and regulation. as facilitators we need to understand all of the games. how it will be played and so forth. it is because we need to explain it to the participants. imagine you as facilitators don't kno about a particular games and you don't know how to answer it.so the preparation is important.

Hi liza…..

Understanding…..I have the same opinion with you Liza. As a facilitator we have to understand the rules and regulations of all the game inserted in the Camp. Well, may be it’s quite difficult to remember all the rules but as a facilitator need to understand not to memorize the game. Without clear understanding of the game we will not able to explain clearly to the participant.

Dear masliza…

I am totally agreed with you regarding on facilitators' knowledge about the games before we play it during the camp. That is why we did have a play day, which a day where we played all the games that were proposed to be played in the camp. We as facilitators need to know the rules and regulations for each game so that we manage to explain to our participants how the games should be played in order to make sure that they can play the games well without any problems.

Akum dear Masliza.
The comments and advices that you gave i correct. we as facilitaors do not even take advantage in any sitation such as punctuality and discipline.
I also agree with your statement about the hi temperature things. but, were there any situation when one of got pissed off? if there were... then shame on them. they cant, control their temper and get angry easily. they should watch Anger Management movie. Not just for the high tempered participants but also for the high temperd facilitator. Take me for example. did i get angry easily. if i think the reason is not adequate for to get angry then i will keep my self cool...
