Reflection (After the Language Camp B)
After the Language Camp, we cleaned
up everything and then went back to UTM by bus. It was a quite fruitful
learning journey in particular we learned how to organize a Language Camp and I
learned how to be a facilitator. For the students, they become more confident
to use English in speaking and also this camp nourishes every aspect of their
development and forms the foundation of intellectual, social, physical and
emotional skills, all of which contribute to success in school and life.
There are several good
things and bad things in this camp after we did reflection. The good things are
we were in good team work to succeed the Language Camp, the time or the
tentative was managed well as every activities were successfully carried out,
the emcee controlled the atmosphere of the camp well that they always attracted
the attention of the students, the materials for every activities were enough
and prepared-well that every group could finish the game and activities on
time, and the cooperation between facilitators and teachers and lecturers were
good that making the camp more successfully.
However, the bad things
are there was time-consuming problem in the ice-breaking activity that not
every members knew each other well, the foods were too spicy that not everyone
could finish it, the hall was very hot that the emotion of the students were
affected and they couldn’t focus well on the activities, the breakfast should
be provided for all committees before the camp started so that we could have an
energetic body to carry out the activities, and teachers could not be involved
in the group as they could might have different opinions and ideas with the
facilitators when discussing the games and activities.
No matter how, all in
all, this is a good opportunity for us to learn new things throughout the whole
camp and we should correct our mistakes in next Language Camp. What I learned
the most from this camp is teamwork as it involves different people and
different groups across our working together to maximize our efficiency and
reach a common goal. We could do everything if we possess teamwork skills.

Si Na, this is really a good opportunity for us to recognise our mistakes in speaking English and correct the mistakes to improve our English.
Ya!! The hot hall make my students' feel down and cannot focus in the activities!! From that, I think that the environment is one of the elements that can affect students while they are absorbing the input.
I agree with you. The ice breaking is time consuming and the students in my group is a bit shy to talk to each other.
Yes, I totally agree with you, Si Na. Teamwork is indeed essential in a language camp. After attending the language camp, I realize that allof us have multiple roles. We need to be a facilitator, a teacher, an entertainer and some even need to be a babysitter (because there was a little girl who refused to take the spicy lunch 😓). So, teamwork is really important to share our burdens during the language camp. 😁
