Assalamualaikum and Good day..
During the day of the camp, we arrived at
SMK Kota Masai 2 at 8 am. After we arrived, each of us was given a pencil box
case to use during the camp. We were grouped into 20 groups with various types
of group names. We had Superman, Captain America, Upin Ipin, Batman and a lot
other. Mine was Phineas and Ferb. Each of us had 10 students from different
types of schools who participated in the language camp. What to expect?? Hmm..
Every each of the students has different proficiency in English. At first they
were very shy to make friends with the group members, to talk to each and to
introduce their selves. I had to use different approach to bring them closer to
each other and to be comfortable to do group work together. We did a lot of
activities in order to increase students’ motivation to speak in English. Maybe
some of the activities did no suitable with students’ level. They are primary
schools students, the facilitators need to give proper instructions to the
students for them to do the activities. I had to cope with students behaviors.
It was tiring!! They are primary students, but I was amazed how they can be so
energetic throughout all day. They were jumping and running around with their
new friends during the break for Zuhor prayer yet they still can be so energetic for the next activities.

Diz, they are primary school students, their metabolic rate higher than us and they have more active cells! That's why teachers are tired of teaching primary school students. However, don't you find that they are more lovely than secondary school student? At least they dare not to be rude 😜
