~ mY rEfLeCtiOn FoR eNgLiSh LaNgUaGe CaMp '07 ~
Alhamdulillah, everything had already end and I think overall we really had
a great camp in Gunung Lambak, Kluang. There is also a plan for all 14 of us
to go back there to have fun because we actually don't have enough time to
leisure or look around the place. Always busy conducting the game one after
another until we lack of time treasuring the beauty of that place. When
there is a time for us to walk around the place on the last day before we
come back to UTM, all the facilitators were tired enough to enjoy ourselves
& just relax & sleep in our room . Most important, we (myself &
Sofia) failed to contribute our voice (even though I don't have a beautiful
voice) in the karaoke provided in the Garden Cafe as well as failed to jump
in the pool. Sob..sob.. But we had stole the time to play at the
playground when we want to go to our checkpoint for treasure hunt activity
(pity Jaja because she can't join us). Hehee.. Lalala..
1st & foremost, I would like to thank Mr. G for guiding & helping us a lot
during the camp. The 1st thing that I had learned from him is to be able in
improvising & adapting things. There was a problem to get a power supply at
the K9 & Mr. G was the one who be our lifesaver conducting the game without
the music. Eheh!!Shame on us The other problem is we just knew that
we are the organizer for the camp when the camp is already started. Luckily,
everything still under control. There was no quarrel between the
facilitators & everybody was giving a hand in helping each other although
the task or job is out of their expertise (This is the most appreciated
things and "SUPER BEST" experiences that I gain).
One thing that I recognized is that the facilitators, ourselves try hard to
make full conversation in English during the camp & I think we had improve
not only in terms of the communication, but also our level of confidence in
speaking. Better still, now we are using English more commonly (when we eat,
in gossiping, quarrelling, etc.)rather than before we go for the camp. It
shows that we success to get used with the language isn't it? Hehe
My suggestion for future language camp is we should provide time to have a
look of the place and spend more time chatting with the participants
informally. This is because the participants will speak more if we ask
questions about themselves or things that are close to their interests, I
think so. Also, don't forget to prepare some physical activities to avoid
the feeling of sleepy & boringness & also prepare fill-up activities to
prevent silent moments (attn: Mr. G really hates silent moments. So,
beware!)  Tq Ana for all the mini-games & riddles
Finally, congratulation to Mr. G and to all the facilitators for camp A for
your good cooperation in organizing the camp. Muahsss..Sweet memories for
Language Camp A '07
