Contribution

 

            On 23^rd of March 2007 – 25^th of March 2007, third year TESL students had organized an English Language Camp collaboration with JKM Kolej 9, at Gunung Lambak Eco Resort, Kluang Johor. We travelled there by UTM buses. As a member of the transportation bureau, any matter regarding transportation is under my responsibility. As this programme is under Kolej 9 programme, so that, their committee had booked the bus for the participants. My task before the programme was to call Mr. Hisyam to confirm which bus will take us to Kluang. The information I needed to find out was information about the buses such as the number plat of the buses and the phone numbers of the bus drivers before the programme begin. On Saturday, during the programme, I need to call the bus drivers to make sure that they are at Kolej 9 sharp on time. My task also is to count the number of people who are in the buses and make sure it is the same number when we go back to UTM. Before we go back on Sunday, I called Mr. Hisyam again to ask which bus will take us and I called the bus drivers to inform them that we will depart to UTM at 4.30pm. There is no problem occurred when I conducting this task.

 

            Besides that, I am also being a game master of Ice Breaking session – Talking in circle. We had done this game twice. First, we play the game on friday night at Kolej 9 after dividing the participants in a group. The second time we play again the game at Gunung Lambak Eco Resort after we arrive there on Saturday morning.

 

            Moreover, I had helped all my friends in preparing the materials and giving an idea or opinion before the camp. Because of the lack of facilitators I am also helped Dayah in dividing the food and Jaja in Treasure Hunt games during the camp. Anyway, thanks to all the facilitators for giving the best effort and cooperation to make this camp successfully. I wish you all the best.

           

Reflection

 

            English Language Camp 2007 had been conducted by Teslian successfully. All the participants as well as the facilitators enjoy the camp very much. I am very lucky to be one of the facilitators in this camp. Even though we had faced a thousand kind of problem, but we try to find the best solution. Actually it is hard for us to solve the problem alone because of the time constraint and the insufficient staff. However, all the facilitators had always been together to help each other. The most important thing is cooperation among the committee and trusts your friends. Anyway, thanks a lot to all the facilitators (fatin nuraini, fatin nadia, liyana, hanim, pikah, jaja, aida, ana, wani, nad, awer, pia and dayah) for lending your hands, your time and your energy. I hope we will work together again in other activity and make this event as the best memory in your life. It is a very meaningful moment when being with you.
