Dear friends and Mr. G,
Yesterday morning, (10/2), me, banchee, py and farhana went to the school. phew....you wouldn't know how much fear we had just worrying how to find the place. at 8am, puy yih called the school and got to speak with the Penolong Kanan (sorry, i just couldn't think of the english version right now) and told her about our intention of setting an english camp there. she was surprised and did not know what to say, so puy yih told her, we will be there at 10am. so, at 9am sharp , we started our journey, err...more like an adventure as none of us have been to kulai and what's more a place called sedenak. so, we followed azura's direction to the place. take the highway, turn in Sedenak toll and go straight and the school is on the left. sounds like a piece of cake huh? we thought so too...
then, after we paid the toll, we were surprised to see there's a traffic light and on the left is some place with a funny name (i forgot) and on the right is kulai. banchee asked me to turn left and the rest asked me to turn right. and i went bonkers....LOL..it's very hard to be a driver at times. in the end, we went the kulai way. we continued to go along some roads which puy yih described as an uncivilised world. LOL. there were no houses, only big trucks and some abandoned lands. we came to another junction and again we had to decide which turn to take. we went the kulai way once again hoping that we are right. then to make things worst, my petrol tank wasn't full. omigosh...we are doomed!! we are going to die in some strange land.ahhahahah.....
then at last, we came across a small warung and banchee quickly jumped down to ask for directions. she came back smiling and announced that we were all the while right and the school is only 2 km away. :D after that, we were all smilling and so proud of our selves and counting the distance until we have driven 2km. at last, we reached the school. it's a newly renovated and big school. we went goo goo gaga over the little and adorable pupils there. they reminded us of our young days. the Penolong Kanan received us and took us to her room.the headmaster wasn't around at time as he was involved in an accident and resting at home. we proceeded in explaining our purpose and she called the headmaster for advice. then, she called the head of english teachers in to discuss the plan together. basically, the school is very keen of the idea and the only minor problem is the financial part. money to sponsor our makan and the pupils too. this is because the area had just recovered from flood and parents had already spent so much to buy stuff for their children before school reopens and not to mention there are still many who haven't paid the school fees. so money is a problem for most people. lodgings is not a problem because according to them , they have many tents and classrooms. we talked about the date also as they find it abit rush and we couldn't decide another suitable time. suggested dates like 9th is not possible because the school is closed for chinese new year and 23rd is a public holiday. sigh.....so in the end, we settled on 2nd and 3rd.
the school will inform us of their final decision in a week time. so, friends, let's hope that they will agree and we can proceed. that's all for now...see you...:)
