My roomate did this language camp thing last semester so i had a second hand experience of what it felt like being involoved in the preparation for a camp.
A language camp is basically a place for kids to get together and improve their English while having lots of fun. This will be what we are aiming and working towards while preparing the camp.
I foresee that a stack of duties and tasks will be waiting to be performed in preparing for this project. I expect evreyone to be involved and the responsibilities divided fairly and equally among everyone. I think a strong relationship will have to be built among one another in order to make this camp a success.
A majority of us have no experience in planning a camp like this, but nonetheless, TESLians are known to perform miracles and with the guidance of En. Ghazali, i am sure it will turn out all rite.
I expect to gain a lot from this camp. the first and most important thing would be the experience of handling and managing a large group of students. The next thing, is to learn what sort of games should be prepared for a specific group of children.
I hope i will learn more about working in a large group for it is seldom we get an oppurtunity to work in a group of 20 ppl or so. Besides that, time management would come in handy as many of us are very much tied up with our PSM.
I think i will find out that i have learnt and experienced more than i can start to fathom now after the camp.
hopefully, things will turn out ok, and everyone would have had fun.
Most of all, i hope the children would have benefitted by the end of the camp, and would view the English Language from a more positive point of view.
