What Do I Learn from Training Session (Syahirah)

After experiencing all of the nine language games, I’ve learnt much aspect in handling games in class. The most important thing is giving the instructions. Before starting the game, teacher needs to give clear instructions to the students as to help them understand the flow of the game. The instruction will be clearer if the teacher provided the students with the demo sessions. Students will be more understand on how to play the game if they can see the demo first. Other than that, as a teacher we need to think fast and have back up plan if what there are any problems or difficulties happens while conducting the games. It seems perfect when we are planning in paper, but once we implement that in the real situation, there are still something lacking.

After doing the training sessions I noticed a few weaknesses in my game “We Go Together”.  I noticed that the participants enjoyed playing my game; however, the waiting times killed their excitements. Instead of giving turns to them in choosing their pairs I think it is more exciting if I let all of them to choose their pairs in the same.  The other weakness from my training session is I did not correct the grammar mistakes making by the participant. As I focused more to speaking skill, the grammatical error should be corrected on the spot and obviously this is a language game, so, the language aspects must be focused on. Other than that, I also interested with the improvement that had been suggested by Mr. G. I can make my game more interesting if I come out with the ideas of storytelling that involve a few stages of the story (exposition, raising action, climax and resolution). It is more fun as the participants will come up with creative ideas in making the story.

Hence, the training session can really show us the strength and the weakness of certain games that had been planned. Once we doing the training session, we can come out with some improvement to make games more exciting and fun.

That’s all. Thank you.

Nobody likes to wait. But we were waiting while listening to others stories and they were some very interesting and funny ones. Dont feel bad since everyone was having a blast during your game.
