Hai there again!!! I send this separately, I mean not with the lesson plan, due to some technical problems. So...bare with me...sorry!!!
These are the Instructions (Worksheets) for students as well as teachers. Go on reading it (if you are interested)!!! :)
INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS
1. Get into groups of four or five. Sit in a circle. Each group will be given a gameboard, a dice and four or five cones of different sizes.
2. Each player needs to choose a cone to represent him or herself and then put the cone on START.
3. The first player will then throw the dice and move to the square indicated by the number on the dice.
4. There are twelve squares with different indications namely: things, fruits, vegetables, occupations, animals or insects. If the player lands on one of these squares, he or she will have to pick a picture from the small envelope in that square and say the singular noun (if there is only one thing on the picture) or the plural noun (if there are more than one thing). After saying it, the player will have to spell the word. The other three or four players will decide if the player gets the right or wrong spelling.
(i) If the player gets the right answer, then he or she goes forward three squares.
(ii) If the answer is wrong, the player moves back three squares.
* After that, the player will have to put the picture back into the envelope behind all the other pictures in the envelope.
* If any of the players in the group feels that the others are wrong about a spelling, he or she should note down the number of its square and the picture, and then ask the teacher at the end of the game.
5. If the player lands on an empty square then none of the above in STEP 4 happens and he or she stays there. It is then the next player's turn.
6. (a) A player who lands on a square at the foot of a ladder must go up the ladder.
(b) A player who lands on the mouth of a snake must go down the snake.
7. The winner is the person whose score takes him or her to FINISH.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR TEACHERS
1. Help students whenever they have any queries about the game.
2. Once students have settled down to play, watch carefully for situations where both the player and others in the group agree on a wrong verdict. Do not say anything to them yet and do not interrupt the game but make a note for after the game.
3. Students will certainly ask for your advice when they cannot agree on a spelling. Tell them you will deal with the point after the game. Ask them to play on according to the rules. It is vital that you withhold your knowledge during the game or you will kill it. The real pleasure and value of the game lies in the students realising and defending their own answer.
4. When most of the groups have finished, stop everybody and ask if there are disagreements over any of the nouns or spellings. If let's say a student in Group A comes up with a disagreement, do not give him or her an authoritative answer. Refer the problem to the other groups - very often they will give Group A the answer. Only give the answer yourself as a last resort. This way the students teach each other.
This is also the time to bring up any nouns or spellings where everyone in a group was wrong.
