What do I learn from the training session (Chang)

Hi everyone,

After going through all the training sessions, I have experienced nine types of game in total. For each of the game I have participated, I have gained some new knowledge little by little. One of the things that i have learned from the training sessions is giving instructions. Giving instruction is one of the most important elements in organizing a language game. I found that it is important to give a clear instruction to students. The choice of words used is very important because only with the right choice of words, students can understand the instruction. Other than that, the rules given has to be clear too. If the rules are unclear, students may get into confusion. Not only that, students will not satisfied with their result after the game has finished.

I was asked to team up with Akma and Yi Fong to conduct a game, which is 'Name Six'. I realized that most of our friends were failed to name six items. Therefore, I think that we should reduce the number of the items to be listed. Lesson from this game is that we should be flexible when conducting the game.

In a nutshell, I think that training sessions gave me a lot of knowledge which is quite useful for my teaching in the future. Thank you.

I agree with the fact that when conducting a lesson or game, it is not easy to give clear and good instructions to the students. You need to provide clear instruction to gain their focus as well in the beginning and I believe it actually varies among the students' level of understanding.

I am agree with you in which giving a clear instruction definitely is important in organizing a language game. Just like what you mentioned, the choice of words used must be appropriate and easily understood by audience. Explanation of the rules are also important during the game so that audiences are aware of it and the game can be going on smoothly.
