My Reflection of the Negotiation Camp (Afieda)

Salam and hi everyone,

I believe everyone has their own view on the success of the negotiation camp. We need to admit that there were some issues that we should be prepared of so that we could avoid it to ensure the camp went well.

The first thing I notice was that the participants were not really motivated with the camp. We did prepared a few songs to attract their attention but we were short of time and could not play all the songs. We were also having problems with the playlist that one of the songs could not be played. If we had more times, we could use the singing session to light up the mood in the hall especially after the lunch break. We can clearly notice the participants being sleepy since it was raining. Credit should be given to Shafiq for lighting up the mood of the participants.

Another issue is in my personal regrets which involve the game I was handling. I excluded the demonstration part since we were trying to cut out some times and we were thinking of giving more roles to the facilitator in the groups. I was trying to make the explanation as simple and clear as I could. I tried not to talk for too long as I noticed the participants had already seek for explanation from the facilitator. I was so lucky that my friends were so great at helping out with the game. As I was walking around to ensure the participants understood the game, I can see that most of them were already starting to play.

Apart from that, I also think that we should pay more attention to the preparation of the booklet. There were few mistakes in the booklet. We should double check before we print it since there were parts that were mistakenly printed. It created confusion since it was different from the situation of the game that we carried out in the camp.

Nonetheless, the effort that everyone has put in to make this camp a success is highly appreciated. I am so proud of my friends. I believe we were given more time we could make better preparation.
