My Contributions

As head of security and lodging department;
o Make sure that there are places for the facilitators
to stay during the camp.
· But I'm sorry for the 'not enough of the bed'
problem for the girl facilitators.
o Make the safety of participants and the
facilitators.
o Taking care of equipments used.

As facilitators;
o Run the games according to the tentative.
· Though there are changes here and there.
o Facilitates the students.
o Prepared to help if participants are having any
queries or problems.

As the language camp committee member;
o Help other committee member in ensuring the success
of this ELC '07.
o I'm helping in preparing backdrop for the closing
ceremony.
o I'm appointed to prepare the multimedia presentation
for the closing ceremony.
o I'm helping in prepare the 'mini stages' for the
morning exercises.
o I'm helping equipment department in setting up audio
system for happy melodies and morning exercises.
o And give hand to any queries that I can help.

By this opportunity, I want to ask for forgiveness if
I have done mistakes here and there. And I want to
thanks those who have helped me during ELC 07.

Reflection

First of all, what I have learnt from this camp is
with certain approaches, we are able to cater the
passive students in classroom. From my own experience
during this camp, in the beginning I have a few
passive learners in my group. Passive learners
actually shy to voice out their ideas and to show
themselves. During the camp I realize if you keep
encouraging them and said that they can do it they
starting to give respond and react to facilitators'
instructions. For the active learners, you can use
them to help their passive friends. How the
facilitators cater both passive and active learners
will give impact on how they react to you. If you do
it in the right way, they will be very supportive and
cooperative but if you do it wrongly they may resist
and opposing you. Any way I don't think we have
encountered that kind of problem during the camp
because all the students there are supportive. (We can
see it during the happy melodies session how they give
their support by singing and to wave their hands
together)

I think that this kind of camp need more time. Two day
and one night are not enough because the very limited
time with so many things to be done. However, we
managed to do everything according to the plan.
(Though there is a little change here and there we
still able to accomplish what we should within the
time given.) Duration for each game is insufficient
because students need time to be well verse with the
rules of the games then the time is over. So students
did not able to really enjoy the games. If we have
more time I believe that the students will be able to
really enjoy this camp.
