ELC 07': Reflection and Contributions

My small contributions:
by Fatin Nadia Fadzil (the 1st  Secretary)

  1. Helped Fatin Nuraini (our beloved director) to write the proposal. There was nothing much actually…just translated a few portion and put my signature on it.
  2. Prepared the words from director to be included in the participant manual.
  3. Edited the tag for both the participants and the facilitators. Girls, look at your photos…don't you think that they were perfectly edited?
  4. Prepared diagrams for the Battleship and Word Idol games to be included in the participant manual. Unfortunately, the Word Idol diagram was missing and it was replaced by Liyana's. The battleship one was available.
  5. Provided songs for Kak haida's slot (Talking in Circle)
  6. Recited the doa for the launching ceremony (god blessed us!!)
  7. Facilitated the White Tulip group. In term of encouraging them to communicate in English, I believe that I've done a good job. But, in providing them the English vocabulary.. I failed a little bit… (But I think, it was ok since we have another 14 linguistic experts around, rite??)
  8. Be the game master of Battleship and word Idol
  9. Wrote the report of the language camp together with Liyana (will be included in the faculty bulletin this month)
  10. Apart from all stated above, I believe our best and biggest contribution was to help and support each other throughout all the enjoyment and hardship of the camp. I personally want to thank every single person involved in the camp especially the 13 happy-go-lucky fc (Fatin, Liyana, Jaja, Awer, Pka, Pia, Dayah, Nad, Hanim, Wani, Ana, Aida, Kak Haida) and of course our beloved movie director, MR.G...thanks everyone…love you all
P/s: The most crucial contribution will be commenting our own thoughts & opinion…hehe…

Mirrror…mirror on the wall
(Reflection by Fatin Nadia Fadzil)

Frankly speaking, I've never loved camping. Perhaps, I just don't like socializing with new friends and do outdoor activities. But, organizing our ELC had changed my thoughts totally. Never that I've thought the camp would be extremely splendid and interesting. Perhaps because we had some crazy/ happening fc around (this goes to pia, awer and jaja). Anyway, I really need to thank all the 13 of you. Know what, I just can't show my tiredness when looking at all your passionate faces. I salute you guys for the ability of boosting up one's motivation. Overall, the camp was great. I'm sure, if all of us can improve our proficiency level, it will be even greater. Obviously, not only the participants gained benefits from this camp but so did us… I can see the pattern of we, speaking English more regularly, comfortably and confidently. What a good change!! Seems like all the objectives of the program were fully achieved. To Mr.G…next time, don't waste your time finding our weaknesses. There wasn't any (apart from the fact that our language is limited…hehe!!) I believe that there will be at least 14 A's from our Lang.Games in Classroom subject…(I suppose we all know who are the 14 lucky people, right??) k everyone…have a nice day…thank to all of you… let's dream in Englsih!!!

hi fatin,

have you heard this proverb? "tak kenal maka tak cinta". i hope you will try to go to another camp after this. i love camping. it makes me knowing new friends and i will get a lot of benefit from there. and you also will get a new experience. so, let's try it again. :-)

Hi Fatin,
Actually during the camp, I think that you're one of the quietest person around. However, when we need a helping hand, you were always there in front of us. Compared to those who contributed their voice and loudness (ehem...boosting up spirit) you're one of those who is the pillar of our camp i.e. you helped our director when we can't lend her a helping hand...
Omedetou to you!!!

allo fatin, i wonder how come u don't like camping. i thought u love to socialize...hehe..anyway, i do agree with u about ur level of proficiency. it was too bad for us not being able to help those 'friends' with proper vocab, rite? nway, i wonder y battleship was so boring...perhaps the girls were too blur to play the game...it was supposed to be an interesting game right? remember the mini game we held in ktf? nway, word idol was good enough.love to look at those excited faces while playing at...k la, till then, keep up ur good work..bubye

hi fatin..besides our language proficiency, i do agree with u about one more thing. know what it is? it's about our team work. it was good taht we can avoid any catfight during the camp or Mr G would see ur weaknesses. nway, i dont think we will fight in any situation..argument??? maybe... but not fighting...that's too harsh, man...(i'm making use of ur semantic knowledge...hehe..)i think all of us including those in camp B are equally supportive and cooperative, right? GO TESLIANS!!!

dear, you said that you did draw diagram for word idol, rite? what happened to it ah? how did u misplace it? i hd seen ur drawing.. it was nice...with the element of multiculture n different style of clothings...too bad that we could not use it for the participant manual. anyway, the one drew by yana was equally nice but i was thinking why the face of the fc drawn was too fierce..it did not reflect ur friendliness la..never mind...i'll talk to yana bout this...yana..here i come!!!

this commenting thing makes me so tired,man...i have already commented on 5 people and i desperately hope that those girls will reply. same to u la fatin...what do u want me to comment ha?? no idea ma...k let's talk bout the benefits of d camp..hmm, i agree that we have improved ur english a lot...the number of people trying to talk in english is now increased...that's good...we did not only encourage the participants to use English but also ourselves...for future ELC (if there's any la kan) i hope that all of use can make it better. do you agree that this sem we have no presentation activity except for KPDP and teaching macro class? i think, if we have more speaking activities in class, our language used during the camp will be better, rite? my advice is that... let's practice using english more often...to conclude...let's dream in English, everyone!!!!!!

i definitely agree about our awesome post-effort to speak in english after the camp..that's great isn't it? fatin look like she never care less about things other than her thing, but ELC proved it wrong..she helped a lot with other ppl's slot and i'm surprised to see that this girl knows how to have fun too..even when she's not moving around with all the other crazy facis.. well, your dimple, i repeat dimple got establish eh, in liyana's game...nice one..hehe..

hi fatin..
how are u?? sometims i wonder why you guys from camp A were so excited telling the girls of Camp B ur experience organizing the ELC. i'm sure that there are people who were tired of listening to those stories. but i think, it was not ur fault, right? it was a cool experience for us to actually oraganize this camp. not only we can help others to improve their english but also help us to expand our social network...but above all, i want to tell u dat handling school kids brings more fun than young adults.. if only we manage to have primary school kids as our participants, that would be more interesting....

hai dear...
what's up? seems like u guys were having fun organizing the camp, huh? so did us in camp B. it was great to have school kids as the participants... know what, i simply remembered the moments we had during our practical teaching.. have to handle the talkative and silent kids at the same time...really, being the fc of the camp were just like being the teacher in the classroom. the only difference was its formality...i dont think u felt the same, right coz ur participants were adults... need to mae them as our friends then...
