Finally, the language camp is over. A lot of sweets and bitters happened before and on the day of language camps. What I have found out is that all of us did a great job in conducting this event. We tried our best to carry our own task to make sure that the event.
It is also a pleasure working with the participants. I enjoyed it very much. They seem to be participate the activities conducted by the game masters actively. I could see that they cooperate well with us. I can imagine now that if the participants were kids, it will take a long breath for me to keep them paying attention in the activities. Therefore, I think that it is much easier to facilitate university students. However, choosing the games for the students was difficult. This is because the level of difficulty has to be matched with students' level proficiency. Other than that, choosing games for a group of people who is same age as us is something new. We have never conduct any language game which is ideally for adult people like us. Based on our past experience, all the language games that we have demonstrated in other classes or in practical teaching are for young age students. Therefore, I think that choosing the games is a challenging task. After the language camp, I have learnt a lot. One of the things is to know how to engage participants into the games and maintain the good atmosphere. Apart from that, a facilitator should keep a good bonding with the participants so that the participants participate actively. Being a facilitator mean a lot to me as it gives a lot of memory as well as knowledge to me. That's all from me, Thank you.
I am glad that you learnt something from the camp. Especially being the facilitator who needs to keep the participants participate in the game actively as well as maintain the good atmosphere. To be honest, I like this camp very much as we apart from deal with secondary school students (during the practical teaching), we are given the chance to interact with adult learners in which majority of them are almost at the same age with us. It means that we should be more matured when handle this game. Treat them likes our friends.
