OBJECTIVE
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1. guess the words by uttering the letters.
2. combine letters to spell a mystery word.

TEACHING AIDS
1. 4 sets of words based on four different categories.
2. Pictures of fruits, animal, occupation and transportation.
3. Handout 1: Rules and instructions of the game.

PRIOR KNOWLEDGE
Students have basic understanding and knowledge in words from each selected categories.

Teacher- Students Activities

Set Induction
1. Teacher shows pictures of fruit, pictures of animal, pictures of occupation and pictures of transportation to the students.
2. Teacher then, asks students to name them.
Note
Pictures of fruit, animal, occupation and transportation.

Activity 1
1. The students are divided into four groups.
2. Then, each group members are to select a leader in their group.
3. Leaders are asked to go to the front and draw lots in order to select the category that will be played during the game.
4. Teacher decides which group to start the game according to the categories that have been chosen.
5. Teacher distributes Handout 1 to the students.
6. Teacher explains the rules and the instruction of the game to the students before starting top play the game.

Activity 2
1. The leader of each group comes out and picks one word based on the selected category.
2. Then, the leader draws one dash for each letter of the selected word.
3. The members of the group suggest a letter, which they think may be in the word. If it is, the leader writes it in above the appropriate dash. If it is not, teacher draws one part of the “hanged man”. Ten mistakes “hang” the group. If the group manages to get the right answer, the group will be rewarded with two marks.
4. If the group cannot manage to get the right answer, other groups will be given a chance to guess the correct answer. One mark will be allocated for the right answer given by any other group.
5. The preceding procedures will be continued by the next group until all the groups have played the game. The group with the highest mark will be the winner and given a reward.

CLOSING
Teacher ends the lesson by asking the students what they have learned from the game.

HOMEWORK
No homework is assigned.
