Games, games and games :D

Salam and hi buns :)

Since me, Nabila and Ka Mun are responsible for the games, so we will prepare all the games to be played during the camp. I'm thinking of collecting all the games you guys used in the language games class and see whether they are appropriate for the university students. If they are appropriate, that's good and if not, perhaps we can alter the contents of the games to suit the university students' level. Besides that, we are going to come out with our own games and posted here so that we can get feedback from all of you :) We will try our best to come out with games that do not require lots of materials.

If you have any suggestions for the games, do share with us. We would like to hear your opinion ;)

Security and delegate servicing

Hey guys, Su Ching here. Same with Ling Yao, since there is no any specific tasks for external affairs, so Ruzaini has came out with security tasks for us.

Maybe people might wonder what is this task all about. Like Ling Yao explained to us, besides we checking the safeness of the equipment, we also will check on the venue as well, with the hope that our language camp will conducted smoothly without any accident happen.

So, for the activity planners, you have to inform us whether you will come with any language games that will involve any physical movement, or any outdoor, so that at least we can apply first aid box from UTM Health Centre.

Other than that, me and Ling Yao have another task, that is delegate servicing. The main task of it is to interact with participants and answer enquiries of participant in joining our camp, and also registration. So me and Ling Yao will get the name list from Mr. G for the registration purpose.

So is there better suggestion for us?

Thanks and have a nice day.

Gifts Budget

Salam everyone and happy new year

----Since you all didn’t object on the ideas we already discussed, I’ll consider that you girls and boy agree that we will have:
1. One prize for the winner group of the games
2. One prize for the winner group of sketch competition
3. Three Prizes for the most active students
4. Sweets or stickers (only if the budget was enough so it is up to Bircan and Kubra)

(WE CAN STILL GIVE OPINIONS REGARDING THIS BUT IT IS BETTER THAT WE DECIDE ON THIS MATTER SOON SO BIRCAN AND KUBRA START SEARCHING FOR THE GIFTS)

----My advice as the treasurer to you girls is to settle the grand prize, sketch prize and three individual prizes for the active students first. The prizes should not be very simple since they are for adults and not expensive, so please try to get CHEAP and MEANINGFUL prizes as possible. After you are done with these, you can buy sweets or stickers depending on the amount of money left if there is any of course.

----Since we can apply for the paper and other stuff from the faculty, the money allocated for the prizes is RM50. If we finished the materials with cost less than RM20, the money will be transferred to buy gifts. However, consider ONLY RM50 for now.

PS/ you still need to pay me first of course on the 20th Nov.

see you all soon

security issues

Hi, all friends,
I'm ling yao, and for me there is no job on external affairs, and Ruzaini suggested a new job for me and Suching is security. Still not sure the job is confirm or not. However, whether my job is the security or not.
The safety issues should be considered during our language camp since we need take care of all the participants.
So before we begin all the activities, I will check all the equipment whether they are in the safety place. Check is there any dangers in the environment.
However, I'm not familiar with the job, so anyone has any ideas about that? What should I prepare? any suggestions? Thanks.

Technical support and runner

Hi girls and Ruzaini :)

On the day of the programme, Lin Han and I will be the technical support and the runner. We'll cover everything from

1. getting the things that you all wanted to buy
2. ensuring the presentation slides going well (if there any)
3. ensuring that the microphones works well from the beginning to the end

So, on the day, there would be problems or anything to do with emergency, all of you can find Lin Han and me. We will help you with anything. :)

For now, I need to come out with a list of things to buy. The activity unit and souvenirs perhaps have something that you guys wanted to buy? or to make it even better, we can buy together. :)

Gift Suggestions?

 Hello Everyone...

As you know, Me and Bircan are responsible of preparing the gifts for the students.
Since, we have  a limited budget regarding the gifts, Me and Bircan would like to prepare some home-made gifts. This could be interesting and attractive for the students as well as cheaper to us. However, Fatima suggested that we can only give the prizes to the winners.  I would like to add Fatima's opinion that we can award the winner with good prizes but in order to motivate the rest of the students me and Bircan can prepare some small gifts to give them. For this , we need to consider budget at the same we should be creative to make awarding interesting. Personally, I do not want only easily award just for the sake of awarding.. we want to make it interesting with low cost.
So, guys I would like to get first your opinions, if anything interesting we can add or do. Simple , Nice, Attractive suggestions please.

Approval Letter for Language Camp

For your information, we need an approval letter from Faculty of Education to secure the venue for our language camp. Below is the working timeline:

07/11 - Ruzaini had a consultation with Mr Ghazali regarding the event proposal. He got some feedback from Mr Ghazali and he did some corrections to the proposal.

08/11 - Transfer of the proposal from Ruzaini to Luk Jing. Luk Jing took over the job of applying for the approval letter and the venue. Habelasha helped Luk Jing to get the signature from Mr Ghazali.

09/11 - Cover letter was added to the proposal. Credit to Habe for coming up with the cover letter. =)

12/11 - Submission of the proposal to Education Faculty. (Pending)

Progress to be updated.

Venue for Language Camp

Venue for the camp.

As the director of the camp, my first job was to secure a hall to conduct the camp. The hall that being suggested by Mr. Ghazali were KRP and KTC hall. I went to KRP office and i was unable to secure the hall on 8th December as the hall will be use for a festival conducted by the college. My chance of getting a hall before the next Language Games class all depends on the availability of the KRP hall and i went there on Monday, 22nd of October to book the hall. The receptionist there told me the person in charge of the hall is not available at that time and asked me to come again the next day. So i went there back the following day and once again i was unable to meet with the person in charge of the hall and i failed to secure the place. During the class, i delivered the bad news and Mr. Ghazali gave me another one week to book the hall. i tried once again to ask for KTC hall before i went back to home for Raya Haji and the receptionist said that the hall cannot be book as it is under a renovation, so i gave up on this one. Nabila offered a help to survey KTF hall and the staff there gave full cooperation and willing to lend us the hall. So, I went there to confirm the hall and placed my name in the book to confirm my booking. I manage to get the hall but still the college require approval letter in order to conduct the camp. As the semester break arrived, I asked my assistant director, Luk Jing to get the approval and show it to KTF college. Credit to Nabila and Luk Jing.

The Budget of Language Camp

Salam and Hi everyone,
As you all know, I’m the treasurer for the language camp so here is the thing:
Since the proposal that is going to be submitted to the faculty does not contain any request of funding (money), we need to manage the issue on our own. As our vice director (Luk Jing) already suggested, we need to contribute with RM5 in order to cover the expenses of prizes. It is still undecided how many prizes we need (exactly) but I think we will try to keep it at only RM5 and it will be enough if we gave prizes to the winners only. So the members responsible for the souvenirs (prizes), please keep our budget in mind, which is maximum RM70.
However my suggestions are as follow,
First, I agree with Luk Jing that we need to give prizes for the winners but keep in mind that we will be having group activities. If we conducted group activities or games, do we need to reward all members of the group? As a consequence, we will reward three groups, which consist of 30 students because rewarding only one group at the end of the day seems frustrating for the students.
Second, regardless of who won the games or the activities, I suggest that we give three special prizes for the three active students at the end of the day because this will keep them motivated all day even if they didn't win the activities.
If you have any suggestions, please share with us and also give your opinion
