hi there! it's about our irony holiday!

hi there everyone!
then, the holidays are very near. i bet everyone must be busy doing their assignments as fast as possible to enjoy the holidays. suddenly, holidays seem to be very precious to me. ahh. during the 3 months holidays it was quite boring. when the classes has started, i tend to miss holidays. what an irony?ok la. even it is gonna be for one week only, i think i am very grateful as finally, i have some space of time to exhale and inhale freely and as long as i want, but still within one week holiday. well guys, do you what's the worst part of our holiday this time? all of us must be busy doing our discourse analysis asignment!!! ahahahaha what do u guys think?

What i like about the camp.
1) On stage performance by the cool, lively and energitic "facis". Feel like "The Supreme in the making".

2) I enjoyed the character poem and making cheer activiticy where it is a bit of come-down activity for the others.

3) Do you know that i have improved much on my people skill in the camp especially during the treasure hunt activity. I had a good time "Throwing stones into the participants' WATER-TAKER (a tease for ROY) together with kak Cicah.

cant think of any ideas anymore! but am gonna end this by telling you my resolution for the next camp. "I am gonna ROCK the camp, baby". :P (yelah tu!)

games..games..language games?

The full report of the language camp has finished. let see what i want to talk for each games ;)

There are eight games that were selected for this camp. These games focused on different areas of language learning such as vocabulary, listening skill, identifying parts of speech etc. The briefing for each games are stated as follows:
· Flip-A-Card
The materials for this game are well prepared. This game focusing on vocabulary, which requires the participants to state name of countries, animal, verb, adjectives, fruits and vegetables according to the chosen alphabet. The strength of this game is that is easy to play, participant’s can easily understand about this game. The negative side of this game is that it is quite boring, because the participant’s just need to flip a card and they just choose between the two alphabet that was selected based on the cards that they chosen.

· Add One More
Most of the groups did not have ample time to play this game. This is because the participants do not easily understand this game. The confusing part is when the time we as facilitators need to give them marks. But there are still groups that manage to play this game and they did not face any problems regarding this game.


· Snap
The participants easily understood this game. They also seem to compete with each other to get the marks for their group. For the selection of words, this game has chosen two words from different categories that can build another one meaningful word when it combines together. This game took a short time to end, as the participants already know the word that they are going to ‘snap’.

· Othello
The preparation for this game took a long time. This game needs at least 16 participants in order to work and been played successfully. This game focused on vocabulary, which requires the participants to know the synonyms, antonyms, homonyms for each word. But there is a suggestion to change the way we play this game to the “Dam Haji” because the participants are more familiar with this game. The successful part for this game is that the participants manage to answer most of the questions correctly.

· Sentence Scrabble
This game focusing on builds a sentence by identifying the category of word based on its parts of speech. This is the only game that focused on sentence level and the participants manage to builds sentences based on the categories that they were ask to. They also need to move around to find words that have high marks with their friends in order to win this game.


· Home Sweet Home
This game is similar with the ”Win, Lose or Draw”, so the participants easily understand this game. But this game only focuses on one category that is home appliances. Maybe after this we can add more categories. This is because some of the facilitators need to add words at the end of the session because the finish all the cards in a short time.

· Build-A-Bridge
As for the initial part of this game, it looks like quite messy because of the materials. Some of the facilitators also still did not understand on how to play this game. The facilitator in charge takes time to explain the rules of the game, how to play this game to the facilitators and the participants, and the game start quite late. This game also need quite a lot of staff such as old newspapers, straw, binding tape and rope. Maybe after this we can come out with the simplify version of Buil-A-Bridge.

· Bingo
This game only function as a filler game, as we did not play this game. This game is really suitable to be play in order to fill the gap between activities.

THE BIG WORD: ATTITUDE

Well, I feel that the language camp is indeed an "eye-opener" for many of us. We get to know how people work, what kind of attitude they have, and what kind of leader they are. In short, we see a lot of things closer and deeper.

I just want to highlight one point here: Whatever that we do, it is our attitude that counts the most. There is a saying like this: OUR ATTiTUDE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN OUR APTITUDE. There are many talented and gifted people out there who are not successful in their lives. The reason is simple. They may know a lot of things but their attitude sucks. One of the major differences between those who have a form of success and those who truly win in every area of life is their attitude. If you have a positive attitude, you will not let circumstances take you captive and control your life, but you will use trials and troubles to yield the fruit of success. Someone who has a positive attitude and is able to "think big" will never under the circumstances but will always on top of them. A person with character and positive attitude will turn every adversity into opportunity. When he encounters problems, he will not complain or point fingers at anyone. He knows that problems are meant to be solved and he will see solutions more than the problems.

I believe we can produce a totally different result (a better one of course) in the next camp if we are able to show positive attitude during the camp. Remember this, we have a lot of talented people in our TESL class. However, nothing is more common than unsuccessful men/women with talent.

Wow...B to B+! Well, every single one of us have to admit that it's not that bad for a camp that was filled with a lot of first timer like me, CC, Ken (and the rest). One thing for sure, (for me) we did it very well. Apart from some 'management' problem that happened, most of the students enjoy it. Plus, remember that they even requested for the program to be longer.
Well, since the camp is over, I think its better for us to put aside those 'beef' among each other. Like Syarul said, let us think back of the objectives in the first place. We are not competing to be the best faci among each other right? Aren't we? So, I think if we keep condemming on peoples' flaws and mistakes, we're not going anywhere. We ARE learning. It's just the nature of it. So, as Gina said, and I quote, it's better for us to respect each other. Some people may have some weaknesses, but that does not mean that he or she is useless or something like it. There's got to be something inside us that is worth to be shared.
Anyway, when I read my message from the participants; I know when they promised to learn English better, I'm pretty much sure that I must have done something right. Whatever it is, I just can't wait to go for the next camp. (Funny eh for somewan that used to avoid any kind of responsibilities for all of you)
Lastly, sorry again if I ever offended anyone during our 2 days stay there. Thanks also for the moments. I'll never forget it. Now, if you excuse me I have a heck load of assignments to do. God speed to all of us.

Congratulation everyone... thumbs up for the first camp facis and ADD ONE MORE, a B to B+ camp.

I am afraid of repeating the same points of comments and critics as mentioned in those post mortems. However the SENTENCE SCRABBLE here is more likely to be the same repetition of congratulating and dissatifying. Please mix and SNAP all the comments to be better for the next camp. Be prepared to all the team A members. Good luck to our new director... NATERAH! We will always give you good support. BUILD-A-BRIGDE wisely with all the facis and all coming participants. They won't be the same. FLIP A CARD slowly one by one in chosing the best solution and outcomes. Team A members, what ever and how ever Kaizen was being commented, there will be our HOME SWEET HOME again for another three days.

Add One More story, please.....

Wow, it seems that everybody is in full gear, trying to finish everything at the same time. I know all of us are practically busy with our own business but hey!….the blogger web is getting fuller and fuller with our comments as I surf it day by day. Hmm.., which means that everybody is trying their best to publish their story, eh? Ey, so do I!

I sure enjoy myself reading your stories about the previous language camp. Although I wasn't there but my English spirit was with you guys hahaha! Reading about your stories makes me wonder how would it be when my time arrives since I've never joined any language camp before. Wish me luck!

Today I just wanted to say my zillion thanks to all the people, including YOU who are currently reading this God-knows-what story. Thanx for being extremely supportive towards our simple, sometimes tricky sometimes not game, Add One More, by sharing your thoughts on how to improve the game. Gee…I’d never forget the moments when you guys tried really hard to make the game better. Did you, the facis play our game? Wow, I sure hope you didn't encounter such similar confusions with the participants.

You know what? I must admit that it did feel different that day….oh you know, I used to be among the spectators, keeping my thoughts to myself, then suddenly I was standing in front of the class listening to you coming out with this superb genius ideas for us. Hahaha…don’t worry, that didn’t annoy me much, but rather an interesting experience to improve my understandings of English. I know I can count on the TESLians for help, right?

I'm really looking forward to hear more of your language camp stories, and I know you guys are eager to tell as well. Tell me more, just like Add One More!!!1

Language Camp anyone?......
I heard a lot of interesting stories from you (the facis) about the language camp in Camp Kaizen...it's nice to know that everyone's having a good time....such a waste that I was not one of those lucky lads and ladies....

Thanks to the Almighty that nothing bad happened to any of you......perhaps there's some flaws here and there...but believe me...just learn from our mistakes.....experience is our best 'teacher'.

As I said earlier...we work as a group and everybody tries to contribute their best for the group....and....there's no need to smash others in order to be accepted....when we are being commented...don't give up...just look at the good side of it....different people see differently....thus.....we must always remember that...comment is not just a comment....why can't we just contribute something to make for example a game or activity planned more interesting to all?....it's worth the effort.....

i heard a lot about the language camps.... congratulation to all of the facis and all of the friends who help in the working session.... i still upset for not going ya know.... i mean, i really wanted to go, bit then something turn up that made me not go.... so, everything going fine, guys? the game, the participants, the song, and everything? i really looking forward to go to the next language camp....
hm, the working session... a big thanks to everyone who came and did a great job.... we stayed in that room for almost the whole day, right... and we finally get everything done.... thanks to syarul, daniel, farrah, diyah, dihah, nater, shued, dini, caroline, willie, evette, adam, kenneth, roy and the others with the name do not mention over here.... it's great to have time like that again...i mean, after 3 years of being teslian and now we are again doing something TOGETHER.... thanks guys for the memory.....

iam glad to post my second intelligent thang' in this MR.G's creative effort. THANK YOU MR. G.

Language Camp is "la puerta" to all of us who want to improve the second language. I like to teach those participants to be able to motivate themselves in speaking the language. This is what i do best. As teachers make the camp as a gateway of self-learning and evaluations towards better teaching professionalism (i bet Syarul agree with me here) as well as for the participants, it is thier gateway of opportunity in belieiving themselves to be an English speaker. They need to be fostered to say"YES! I CAN SPEAK ENGLISH NO MATTER WHAT" or "SPEAK ENGLISH OR DIE!!" as what had been said by my group during drama action and the speaker got killed because he suddenly in the end, spoke "sekian terima kasih". My team was allright and i received a lot of feedbacks positively from thier heart. This is what i like BEST!!. Those feedbacks written in small torn pices of papers are my motivation or wages for my effort. Pals, this is our fuel for future camp. Get the motivation form there ok!. Thanks for all who came to the camp and i believe we need to hope for our friends out there who really trying hard to at least speak a word of English everyday. GOOD LUK TO ALL THE PARTICIAPNTS OF 11-13TH OF JULY CAMP!! :) My role for the upcoming camp will be the same but with better intention and ambitious hope as well as my second camp committee members under once again Mr.Syarul. MAY GOD BLESS US FOR THE SECOND CAMP AS WE STRIVE HIGH TO BRING ALL THE GAMES INTO PLAY AND FOR THE PARTICIPANTS TO DIGEST THE BENEFITS OF THE LANGUAGE ITSELF AS IT IS SO IMPORTANT AS WELL IN SPEAKING THE LANGUAGE FOR ONE'S FUTURE AND BETTER LIFE..AMIN.

as the first camp i considered as successfully end, now i'm eagerly waiting for the coming language camp..it's really fun..i really have a good time with u guys there except for the part that there's no water and electricity...apart from that, everything went on well.i really want to take a chance here to apologize with you guys if im didn't much help you..from my side i think that i didn't contribute much for this camp..i accept for any blame from u guys for my weaknesses during this camp.

'Esprit de Corps' this is my group's name...what do you think of their performance? one thing that i feel happy about them is that i can see their improvement within 2 days..that's really a good thing, right? Teslian agree?

as for the games, the preparation for the build-a-bridge was really cost us time...
i mean, even we as the facis took time to understand the game, and when it turns to the participants, they seem 'blurred' at first, fortunately they understand and all the groups manage to build a bridge that last for 10 seconds! they also enjoy to sing the 'hat' song and unlucky for us we didn't manage to teach them all the song in their booklet...maybe after this we should reduce the number of song for each camp, and the songs should be shorter and more cathcy..anyone agree with me?

ok, let's work for another language camp and we'll make sure that the coming language camp will be better than last time.

What is your feelings during this final year?

Hai people. Glad to join all of you. I just received the invitation from En ghazali. Guys, i want to ask all of you. What is your feelings during this final year? I just want to share something with you and need your opinions. I do know why? But i feel a bit demotivated to learn. Not like the first three years. I am bored with all the assignment plus the PSM. I know that i should be strong since this is the last year for us. But this feelings (boredom) keep haunting me. Can you guys give some opinoin or ways to avoid this feelings.
So, i heard that most of you went to Language Camp in Gunung Pulai. How was it. Do all of you enjoy yourself? How was the students?

To everyone out there hi and welcome...yup its amazing how time flies now its tuesday and just a few days ago i was experiencing things that i cannot forget for the rest of my life...i just wanna say a big sorry to all of you at the language camp for being pain in the neck! I thought alot about my attitude and i felt that i was being selfish! The reason for me being not me at the camp had nothing to do with the place the food or the participants but rather my own judgement of other people, in simple words...i was not satisfied with the attitude of some people, but this is really not their fault and i was being "over" i should had taken a different view and see things differently...next was because i was tired most of the time i did not have a good night rest prior to the camp and going to bed late at night at a new place did not help much too...and lastly...many people do not know this but when im the "teacher" I AM more serious and i am different then when im in class mainly being me not wanting the participant to see the crazy and bubbly side of me ask PM Dr Annie how serious i was when i was at my practical! Enough abot me..lets go to other people...to all facilitators except Kamal and Abg Shah, i wrote you luv letters and what i felt and wrote is sincere and by no mean "lazering" pls dont take it the wrong way ok! Thank to Mr G, Miss Fatimah, En Farouk and Dr Norazman for the support and encouragement...you were the greatest..you all had given us the sense of confidence and a new perpective in the teaching of english...true enough there will never be a ring or a magic wand or pill that would give you the mastery of the language overnight but i believed that if we all work together we are that "magic" we are the "workers of a miracle"...only two days and we see the difference and imagine the lives of people we change in a lifetime as and English teacher in near future! This goes out to Dini, my dear what gives you the impresion that you did not perform well and how could you say you were not meant to be a teacher...you were being hard on yourself and costantly blaming yourself and thus lowering yourself esteem! In all the post mortem session we had never once i heard you ever saying you were good enough..you are smart and really good in the language and you know what? you are what i called the "new-breed" of teachers...fun, loving, cool, very hip and happening just like our lecturers and i truly believe you will be able to connect with the students...is that not what a teacher suppose to be, truly understanding and really able to connect with them...as for me most of the time i had difficulties to connect with them simply because i was not up-to-date enough in the music scene or other thigs for that matter, i am really traditional in my way of teaching and the only things that makes me what i am today is my passion and inspiration from my parents! and trust me i have seen many many teachers along the way and i know what makes an effective teacher.Thats all you are and what forever you will be-a great person and trust me great people makes great teachers...dont believe me look at Mr.G, Miss Fatimah, no!...wait...look at all our TESL lecturers...many of us i believe reflects the best in most of our lectures in our personality!
And lastly to Syarul...again and again you amazed by me with just how cool, calm and collected you were with the whole thing and i know you were dissatisfied with our performance and we are really sorry for not leaving up to your expectations and believe me you did great, we drew alot of strenght and support from you..and trust me i have been around you long enough to know what your face tells me!Hahaha!To that geko in our bathroom good luck in scaring the next batch of facilitators! Huwaa, very tired...

Allo everyone,how r u all?Tired huh...That is what I feel today.I've read all the postings and it seems that the recent language camp had gave everyone some kind of experience, whether it is sweet or bitter. As for me, I have learnt a lot from the camp, especially on how to be a better person and working with other people. Frankly speaking, I know that I am not good enough and I don't have what it takes to be a teacher, but somehow, after seeing my adik-adik have overcome their fear to speak English, I was touched. That is why on the last day, I cried. Its not that i am 'mengada-ngada' or what. I really feel attached with them although it just 2 days I've known them. To Mr. G and to all my friends who went there, I'm so so sorry if I didn't performed well. Same goes to the material.The lessons that I learnt from the camp are we should always be prepared, be sensitive to other people's feeling and don't try to 'ikut our own kepala'. Congrats to Sharul because he was able to handle the camp well and cope with all the situations during that time.Just wanna tell you guys that I am just an ordinary person, don't expect too much from me. I have more weaknesses than my good qualities. At some point, I really feel that I can't really be a good teacher, cause I think,I'm not meant to be one. However, I should not give up halfway and should try my best to finish my degree, and then find job that really suits me. Okayla, I think I'm already out of topic. Let us focus on the coming camp and make improvements from the previous camps. Got to go now, babai!

Well, guess all those who went for the language camp had their own fun times and bad times too! i mean kinda "bad" times though! Anyway i heard you guys really enjoyed yourself despite the mosquito and the place. I got feedback that the floor was real dirty and you can hardly sleep because of the noises and mosquito. But anyway you guys gone through it right? So isn't that a good news? I heard that they were only 80+ students instead of the 180 students. Hhhhmmmm guess the rest was kinda "kiasu" ya! So since you guys are back gotta start doing all the killer assignments that are coming through the way!!! It's like neverending story ya! Finish 1 assignment comes another one! I wonder when will these finished? Well, I just want to say all the best for your thesis! Continue to pray for me lar since i'm still stuck half way!! Really need those prayers!! By the way I am glad to hear about you sham, finally discover your true self! Continue to live your dreams and strive for the best in your life! Well like you said you become a better person because of your girl. I totally agree with it because I know the encouragement and appreciation that the person you love gives! I wish you all the best, sham! And for the rest out there, quickly check out for girls and guys that is suitable for you! Not to say desperate but through my friend's experience it is hard to find your life partner when your are working! But for those who still wants to stay single, i have no saying because that is your choice! Well, we are not little kids anymore and we should think something good for ourself but not until you disobey your parents lar.:P so people see you all in class!!!!

First post from the chosen Wan. Well, although I think it is a little bit late, I have to do it, right?
Hmm...Actually, I just feel like doing it tonight. Check the date pals, it just hours after we got home from the Language Camp. It was a tremendous experience. There are also a lot of thing I can reflect upon myself during the (almost) 2 days stay.
One thing for sure, I know Shamril Wan is back on the right track once more. I don't know why or how, it just something deep inside me that says this IS the time for a change. Thinking back of the experience at the camp, I was wondering until now, what made me choose to go. Then, surprisingly, one by one responsibilities (and trust) people put in me. From devising the theme song, facilitating the students, to being the Drama Guru of the camp, I'm successfully made it!
Anyway, just some space for some appreciation, I think what Shirley wrote to me is true. I become a better person because of my girl. Somehow I just want to be the best in her eyes. On the mean time, I don't want to pretend to someone that I'm not. I used to be respected, admired and have the reputation of being there among the top achievers. And as gift to what she turns me into, I want her to see me with those status.
Lastly, I thank you once more for those who support me. I also would like to thank to those who have underestimated my ability. "If it wasn't what you tried to do, I wouldn't know just how capable I am to pull through" (Christina Aguilera, Fighter) Thank you!

Boring Monday!!!

Hello people!So, how was the language camp? I am quite impress to see that those who joined the camp, especially my housemates (syaharil,kamal & adam)..well, they landed on their beds as soon as they arrived from the camp and hibernated until 11.00pm!!!Gosh!The camp must be either fun, tiring,explosive or the other way 'round! I did not dare to ask but I can see they are obviously happy..because last night...Nuri came over to our place and they were viewing some digital photoes that they've took during the camp. Anyway, I do agree upon Eve's message regarding the "SALE" ..WAH!!!Not bad for those who went and manage to grab something to spend on! Got hidden talents along with those "aunties" and some "kiasu" singaporean! Well, what can I say! Obviously similar! Anyway, I don't really went to the sale because I have some solid reasons that somehow bounds me. First, I do not have any interest with the sale(most of the things are for "family-typed people"), secondly; I think..err..I positively agree that my precious allowance shouldn't be littered in Jusco (I prefer to shop in KL) and lastly, I don't have the jusco card (don't you think it's awaste of money to pay RM12 a year and get a lousy mag. every two months...so cheap).Anyway, don't get me wrong here; I am not against Jusco..ermm, just that I am giving some healthy comments for them to improve (money wise=quality wise) Anyway, as I was saying just now about Jusco..there's one thing that I really annoyed to....The way they handle the traffics and about the trolley! Ok, the first point; the Jusco simply failed to take responsibility towards the traffics. There were massive jam and road blocks (parked cars as well as those aunties crossing the road).I am quite angry with the public as well, this showed that they are irresponsible. Second issues, the throlley. The Jusco did not allow those poor aunties (with two truck loads of goods) to push their carts to the parking lot outside Jusco. The reason is because they said the throlley will be abandon and littered all over the place. It is true allright....but..BUT....I believe the Jusco have a team of "trolley collector boys"..So, what's the use of these people if they did not bring back the trolleys...It's a waste of money to hire these people then?! I pitied the aunties with loads of things...they dragged their things all the way from Jusco to their cars.......Wosh..I can't believe that I am almost if not exactly sounded like one of the aunties...yikes!!!!!!! phew!!!My talk for today is obviously not-so-academic...

Jusco Sales!

Hey people, gone to Jusco today? Well was real hectic and crowded like "pasar malam"! So many people came and rush into the shopping mall and grab everything which they think was good for nothing. Anyway, though didn't get much things just the usual stuffs, I noticed that there are so many kinds of people. Those who are kiasu lar, selfish lar, win-win attitude lar (if u get what i mean lar) but there are some who are considerate lar:P Well too bad for those who can't make it, well u really missed the chance though! hi there!So, how was the workshop.Too bad I couldn't make it to the meeting, something suddenly popped-up so I have to missed the meeting. Anyway, I just want to say that I'm sorry and a bit shame since I was not around when you guys struggling with all the things and preparations for the language camp tomorrow. I really feel bad regarding the meeting. Because I was bombarded by Syaharil.Well, he obviously thinks that I purposely skip the meeting for no reason.But, I don't really feel bad about him just that I was thinking about Dihah..Pity her, she must be tired of people asking her about me.By the way, I hope all of you will make it tomorrow for the camp.I mean, gosh..9am.That is obviously early;like you people are going to KL or Penang or somewhere?!The camp will be held in Johore area right?!anyway, too bad for some of you have to skip Dr. Annie's class. I'm back on the track....guess what happened to me? The trip to Sunway was amazzzzzzingggg......haha......I was actually planning to stay there and for that reason I have to skip Mr G's class again...........haha....just kidding...sorry Mr G....for not informing you earlier.....about my absence....
I guess yesterday's class was great, right? I must confess that I have missed some interesting games....Actually, I'm quite sleepy....the trip was tiresome though.....and I hope I won't sleep in Mr G's class.....hehe.....

I read Damien's comment about the complaining and bashing others in meeting....Yeahhh...I guess maybe some of us have never thought about this but I believe Damien has made a good point for us to check here.....It's true that...some of us...I mean some.....really don't have that kind or type of ears that are willing enough to listen to others' ideas....in meeting.....and this is not positive....just remember...we work as a group...and I believe...everybody tries to give their best contribution to achieve the goals that have been set up....but....we have to choose the best idea, right?....maybe it's not the best for certain people but the most important is.....the idea should be beneficial for the most people in the group and not just a few important people.....think about it.....there's no point of meeting.....if everybody tries to...like Damien said.....kills others' ideas..without thinking about the importance of the idea to the group as a whole.....Like Damien said again....we have to learn to respect others' views and at the same time accept our own mistake....just....treat others the way you want to be treated........

Hello everyone..it's me again....anyway... i don't have so many times to write...just a little bit...just 50 words maybe...because i have to meet amirul at around 9.30....we want to discuss about discourse assignment...so, in order to wait for him...i went to the internet section in the library....to check my email..and off course to visit blogspot.....hm...tomorrow we will go to our first language camp for this semester...somewhere in Pulai...i'm feel so excited....very,very excited to wait for tomorrow...but at the same time...i feel quite sad...you know why??because my buddy.....adila...cannot go for this first language camp....she will go to Shah Alam to attend her brother convokesyen....but...it's okay...after this, we will go to another 1 language camp...and maybe it will be more interesting....and for the other things...congrate to abg sham...(his brother...)and forsure it will be the great motivation for adila to settle her study by next year!!!hehehe......

hi everyone..finally....I manage to worm myself in..he..he....Here go the fun!!!!Erm, I am totally not as blurry as some of you might have been thinking. In fact, I want to share with you guys my thought and ideas....To begin with, I hope everyone will join their heads and hands to make it happening..well, maybe .er...who knows..Mr G will be kind enough to publish "US" in some magazines...ok..that would be magazine with an "s"...like what he did last year. Maybe I can grab the opportunity to parade myself in magazines..ha..ha..Well, everyone has their own fame and celebrity moment at least 15 seconds once in a lifetime..don't you guys agree with me...This is awesome ya?Anyway, this will be the time for us..the 4SPL to see how we can work and not just do the talking like most of the time....Yeah, the worst part is most of us just love to do the talking err...That would include me also.he..he..Anyway, back to the issue. I'm quite worried or very distracted with some of us who is just not very serious or positive with our works and somebody else 's efforts..Ok, guys. I have to be straight to you guys. Please be polite or at the least to let a person to voice out his or her idea.And not just complaining and bashing each other..I heard from the some "reliable sources" that some of us really act like spoilt brat when it comes to meetings and discussion. Pardon me...or EXCUSE ME for being nosy (I know I haven't made it to any of the meeting)..But guys, this is not it is suppose to be. We have to learn to respect others' views and at the same time accept our own mistake..I mean like..HELLO?!!!If we keep on killing each other..Honey, we're busted!Ok.enough about my humble comment (s) towards some of you..no hard feeling! how are you all doing? thank you to Gina(personally) for your interesting comments on discourse analysis. thanks to Evette amd Willie too; asking me lots of questionsabout UPPU and 'the separable'(hihihi). so, the topic that i would like to discuss now is regarding the way of dressing called trendy. i am always with my slacks or jeans and a simple collared t-shirt all the time, plus my matrix card. well, many have asked me why not wear something that belongs to the trend now? well, i think i will only start thinking about trend after i have started working coz that's when i have lots money i guess. now, i believe it is rather not practical to purchase all those expensive things just to show us off- and who are we? just students!! i mean that is my point of view! how about yours? what do you think? do you agree?

well, so far so good. many are writing about interesting topics. that is really cool. so, i have planned to talk about the assignment for our discourse analysis. well, i guess it is tough one. going out and collecting raw data. transcribing nearly 40 pages of data. gosh! isn't that a hectic life style. just imagine that we have to undergo all this stuffs just to get a piece of paper called degree. and what's its worth? nearly everyone has a degree. imagine taking up masters later on. wonder how many tough and hassle assignments we have to think about. that should be lots of it. we write and type so many papers just to get one thick paper called degree. ahaha. catchy isn't it? well, that life i guess and i bet it is just the starting of our future. only god knows how our future will be, plus our efforts and civicness of course. well, what do you people think? do you agree with me?

Wow, it seems that everybody is in full gear, trying to finish everything at the same time. I know all of us are practically busy with our own business but hey!….the blogger web is getting fuller and fuller with our comments as I surf it day by day. Hmm.., which means that everybody is trying their best to publish their story, eh? Ey, so do I!

Today I just wanted to say my zillion thanks to all the people, including YOU who are currently reading this God-knows-what story. Thanx for being extremely supportive towards our simple, sometimes tricky sometimes not game, Add One More, by sharing your thoughts on how to improve the game. Gee…I’d never forget the moments when you guys tried really hard to make the game better. You know what? I must admit that it did feel different that day….oh you know, I used to be among the spectators, keeping my thoughts to myself, then suddenly I was standing in front of the class listening to you coming out with this superb genius ideas for us. Hahaha…don’t worry, that didn’t annoy me much, but rather an interesting experience to improve my understandings of English. I know I can count on the TESLians for help, right?

Aaaaah, yes, before I end in want to say I enjoyed each and every game that I played the other day at DK6 BK7 very much. GOOD JOB people!!!!!! For the rest of the game, although not selected for the camp, I just couldn’t wait for its thrill. Aaaaah, for the facis who are going for the language camp this Friday, have a great journey and make those participants come back home with that oh-so-English-smiles, hehehe. Till then, chow!

Hello, everyone! It's me again! I think this time, I know exactly what should I write in this gameplan section. Today, I would like to talk about this coming language camp that will be held most probably, somewhere in Pulai during this coming weekend. For this first language camp, I will be going as one of the volunteers. The participants are first year UTM's students and there will be more than 100 of them. All of us, who will be going to the camp as facilitators had our first meeting on Thursday, about two weeks ago. During the meeting, my friends and I were given the responsibilty of setting out the rules for the participants all along their three days and two nights' stay in Kaizen Camp. Our "disciplinary team" which consists of me, Naterah, Chiau Ching and Shuhada have set out the rules which govern several important aspects such as safety, punctuality and a few more aspects, which I have already forgotten. And during last week's meeting, I just found out that the Treasure Hunt activity, which will be incharged by Syarul and Kama will also involve the participations of the facilitators. I hope I will have so much fun in this language camp. Anyway, one more thing that I would like to share with you readers, is that last Friday, the Fourth Year TESL students who are taking the course of Language Games in this semester had a workshop for about three and a half hours. During the workshop, we have tried out 7 games which will be used as language activities for the language camps. The games that have been tried out are Bingo, Add One More, Flip A Card, Snap, Sentence Scrabble, Othello and Build A Bridge. I noticed that during the trying out of the games, Mr. G and other coursemates gave us(Damien and I, who had come out with the Othello game or its original name, Draughtsmen On Parade) lots of information and opinions on how to improve our game so that participants of this coming language camp would be able to play this game successfully. Oh darn i don't know what i'm gonna say here but what the heck i'm here already so i might as well write something, right? So how are you guys doing, what about the language camp, anything new? i have good news for u guys, it's about the treasure hunt that we are going to have in camp Kaizen. Shahrul and me are the one who have to handle the participants during the treasure hunt. we gonna have so much fun looking at them whlile they carried buket full of water everywhere from check point to check point. And by the way, we also need you guys help during the treasure hunt. Anyone want to volunteer sitting at the check point? Oh come on guys this will be fun, i promise! You guys only have to sit at the checkpoint and make the participants life miserable. It's fun right? This language camp gonna be my second and third. I dont know why but i actually like being at the camp. And by the way i hope that the camp will be held at someplace else other than Kaizen. Even the name of the place make me sick. By the way, whose gonna supply the first aid kit. I'll be incharge of the first aid unit with Madiha of cause. I have something to confess here, actually i know little or might as well say nothing about first aid. So i hope you guys can lend a hand if something happen at the language camp ok? By the way, what actually happen to izzati's game? I totally lost touch with it. No hard feeling eeei Izzati. Through out the process of testing the game, i have so much fun. Assalamualaikum and a very good morning to all of you...
I am very gratefull because I finally have a chance to go to a Language Camp. Actually,I kind of like to join this kind of activity since my 2nd Year here. However, I was unable to organize my life as a student and as alover;),so I just jept this hope silently in my heart. Thanks to this course, I am finally given a chance to help others to love and enjoy English. In this upcoming camp,together with Masdini,Kenneth and Syaharil,we are incharge of the selections of songs that are going to be used during the camp. Working with them had provide me a chance to actually learn to co-operate with others. In addition,they are born to be creative!Syaharil had actually created a song, adapted from the American Idol theme song;God Bless America.He had turn it to be 'God Bless LCA'. Kenneth,Syarul,Masdini,Syaril and I had created the camp's theme song-untitled. Hope you guys will enjoy the songs. Last word from me- WORDS WILL ALWAYS BE WORDS UNLESS YOU PUT THEM INTO ACTIONS... Huwaaa.....i feel like i would like to scream....please why all of these happened to me? today, i had to come to the library to do some reading on my PSM topic and suddenly i remembered that i need to post a comment regarding our coming language camp to gameplan.blogspot...than i went to the internet section in the library and try to post my comment but i didn't make it....after that i went to the makmal multimedia also with the same purpose....i managed to write my comment but when the time to post it the server was down...so tension...this day was my bad day....i felt so tired going here and there, back and forth just to find a place here i can post only one comment to this gameplan....arghhh i feel like i really can cry a river today ;( well, enough talking about my bad day....i would like to accomplish my mission, if not the server will be down again than after that i will really really cry a river....let see what to say for my first comment.....okay i'll start with the game that all of us need to create for the language camp. i felt so glad that our game ( Tini and i ) was selected to go for this coming LC. at first, both of us kind of having bad time, thinking what kind of game to be created in order to suit the level of proficiency of the participants. however at last, we managed to come out with the SNAP game. both of us thought that our game was not that "vogue" to be chosen as we peeked through all the games that created by our friends. all the games....how to describe ha? they were all sustainable. congratulations to all of us for such great work and congrats also to those whose games were chosen for this coming LC. now, lets talk about this coming LC. i am in the same group with madihah, shuhada and chau ching. we are the one who responsible to create the rules and regulations for the camp....wait and see....the rules are so strict....he he he :p this coming LC will be my second time as the first one i've participated before was in Tenggaroh. that was a great experience. hope to gain such experience again in this LC. okay move on to the next topic, it is about my next LC under Shahrul. Hi boss! hope that we'll have great time working together as team work with other friends...i'll be the treasurer and also the person who incharge on the camp's time....according to Royzal, he referred me as time mistress...whatever Roy...i hope that i manage to carry my tasks successfully with help from my team..i hope that all the LCs will be the best ever than we ever had before...lets put all our efforts in order to make it the best....but don't forget our PSM, it is also important, if not we wil not be graduating on time...working together works guys....emm, if there's any mistakes, please do correct me if you want and if you want to ignore it, what can i do....i'm learning right now...human need to learn from mistakes right....to err is human, to forgive divine...okay that's all, till next time papai....see ya on our LC, better make it good ha! :)

hi! nice to see more are finally coming out dis time... well it seems dat most have been through some trouble just to get into this. anywhere all those who are going for the language camp 1... all da best with it. hope u guys enjoy "playing" with the students though they are not like the last few ss. anywhere enjoy urselves :) hope everything is up and ready for them. hows it coming with the games? i really liked build a bridge gives lots of laugh to the ss later :) thats for sure coz i really laughed my head off so to speak... so facis hope u can really control them later... and yes i really agree with daniel with the games that we have it really is suitable for them i mean those who are older and more mature in thinking to be more competitive with one another. so hope we can get them to work together while learn english. dats what we are here right? oh so where are u guys really going to have da camp? oh all most forgot has anyone got cast away???? still looking for it. please i really need u guys' help. if u wanna know y its for my thesis, developing a literature software n using some clips from the movie. so if anyone has it please tell me coz i really nees it. see u in class later TQ :)

Hallo! What's up! Posting this up is so hard for me as hard as what I received from the second class ( the 'F' joke!!!! ) but I believe, joining the language camp won't be such trouble for me. I'm quite excited to start the first language this weekend. It will be fun since I am going to spend my weekend wisely and perhaps more enjoyable. I've been to some language camps before, but I believe every event won't be the same to be shared.
having the experiences from practical teaching hopefully can help me in conducting the participants. The games are interesting and enjoyable...the facis are attractive, cheerful, energatic and bombastic!!!...believe me our language camps won't be dissappointed.
to all my friends, do kindly to help me during the camp, we need to share our experience and give hands to each other. We are still learning and we are one. Help me and my friends in rules and regulation unit. We've tried our best to list down and guide some good and exceptable rules for the participants. Let's work it out!

Aiyaaa, it's so difficult to get in here.I thought the invitation means nothing. Anyway, the coming language camp will be at the end of this week and I feel quite excited since this is my first time joining such activity. I have been elected as the medical team for Team A so I hope I can accomplish my task without so much problem.. Regarding the games that were chosen, I'm quite unhappy coz our game was not so admirable by people. What to do?? But we still manage to get 2 marks ha ha...Perhaps our game is too simple for university level..However, other people's games were kind of "vogue" and congrats to you all. I like Evette's game, Police n Thief coz I think the game is kind of exciting and quite "sustainable" as suggested by Mr.G... Last but not least, I really hope that our coming LC will be as planned and hope that everyone will learn something from this camp. Many meetings have been made n everyone has got its task. Let's make it real my fren..Have I reached 100 words he he coz i dunno what else to say... Till then, see ya in LC 2003...babai....

Hey, guys and gals. What are you up to? When I recall the games that our course mates demo to us, I must say that those games are really fun and interesting. I particularly like Megat’s “Build a Bridge” because the game is very creative and I believe a lot of us enjoyed it very much. I am just wondering will all these games be fun to the actual participants of the Language Camp. They may be hindered by their lack of competency in English and are definitely not as expressive as us. Another thing that concerns me is the question of whether or not the outspoken students will appear to be dominant throughout the camp while the quiet ones will remain quiet unless they are forced to speak up. Therefore, I personally think that the facilitators have to really mix around with the participants and do not hang around among themselves. This is important so that we can be more observant and be able to tell who are daring to speak up and who are not. Besides, facilitators should encourage the quiet ones to speak up, helping these people to restore their confidence in using English. In conclusion, the roles of facilitators are really important and we can create a significant impact on the life of the participants. What do you think?

Some Views on Language Games

Hi, everyone. How’s life so far? I think most of us have been anticipating for the coming language camps, right? From what I have noticed through my teaching practicum few months ago, language games are somehow effective in motivating students to learn English. During my teaching practicum, I was given two classes in which the students were hardly interested in learning English. Sometimes, it really disappointed me as they didn’t take any initiative to learn. However, one thing that has stimulated me to carry on was that they would participate actively in language games. Usually when it came to the last period of the day, it was an uphill task for me to catch the students’ attention as they were so eager to go back and at the same time easily be distracted by the noise outside the class. I found it effective to keep students’ attention “in place” through playing some games with them. Needless to come out with very sophisticated ones, games as easy as a crossword puzzle would help much in capturing their interest.

From the language game workshop last week, I noticed that language games are actually capable of capturing attention of adults (like us) as well, particularly when it was do done in a competitive mode. We have had a lot of fun and laughter, haven’t we? I do hope the participants of the language camps will benefit from playing the games. Thanks to all the groups that have been painstakingly preparing for respective games.

Below are some of my personal opinions and views that I would like share with all of you:

(a) Despite the fact that language games can motivate learners to learn, and they will surely have an enjoyable moment while playing them, we should not overlook the essential role of input delivery. What is the most important criterion in selecting a language game? Is it not the input that they learn through playing the game? Or to the least extent the reinforcement of the input that has been taught before, if not new input. My supervisor for teaching practicum gave me three questions to reflect on in preparation as well as the end of any lesson which I find important to make sure we have conduct a meaningful lesson. I am only highlighting one of them here, which is “What can the students learn in my lesson or the activities I conduct?” Therefore, I would like to strongly emphasize the input delivery part before any language game. The students need to be given some input so that they will be able to apply the particular input in playing the games later. In other words, the language games should be parallel to the teaching part. We should not conduct any language games for the sake of conducting it. If the students do not learn anything, the efforts being put into the games are in vain. If the students do not learn much from playing games, there are countless methodologies out there that we might need to consider. Why for to have language games? Honestly speaking, I have got a feeling that a low proficiency student will not gain much (in terms of language improvement) in the language camp if they are merely playing the games without been given much input. I noticed that in some of our lesson plans, there is no specific content been given. Although I do believe in the community language teaching (CLT) theory which suggests that learner come out with their own learning content which is parallel to their current language level, I still think that they won’t learn much in this way. Bear in mind that our language camp participants are low proficiency university students. We need to conduct games in line wit their language level and I believe most of us have already done so. Besides, we should also make sure that our games would cater to their needs, either for academic needs or for basic survivor needs.

(b) I do question about the way we select the games to carry out for the language camps. I think it was not sufficient enough to cover the different aspects of language learning. Noticed that we have quite a number of language games focusing on the word level. I know the importance of vocabulary acquisition in language learning, yet I think that if we focus too much on word level alone, the students will not gain much. I doubt the participants will learn much of the new vocabularies presented in the games as the words are only introduced with no explanation given. Additionally, they do not have the context from which they can deduce meaning as the words were all presented in isolation. Even if the participants have learned some new vocabularies, I doubt whether or not they are likely to attain the words in their internal lexical system, needless to say to use the words in their daily lives. My suggestion for the selection of language games to be conducted during language camps is that we should come out with the objectives and learning outcomes that are expected first. After that different groups need to be assigned different areas (namely the listening, reading, speaking, writing, vocabulary and grammar as well as spelling level, word level, sentence level, or paragraph level etc) to think of for the games, so that there is a balance in the aspects being focused on. This is to avoid too many groups coming out with the same aspects. I suggest that the way of choosing the games for language camps need to be looked into.

These are only some of my limited opinions. I might be wrong in some sense as I look at it only from the language learning and teaching perspective. You might have seen from other angles, such as the practicality of implementation in the given time span and so forth. I apologize if what I have written here has offended anyone of you. Do correct me if I am wrong.

I am telling you, this is an extreme frustration ever! i am in my last 2 lines when the whole writing gone. God knows! what has happened. i dont give my hope up when i realize there's in no way i can retrieve them back. I have to do it all over again. Well! Where was i stop just know? Something about the language camp, went to Tenggaroh, Bukit Besar and...and..and...Yup! that was the topic just now. Basically, i am are all ready for the coming camp in Kaizen. Since, i have been there before. I wouldnt say that it is just a nice venue for a language camp because in this wet season, the leeches and muddy areas could be worst nightmare. But you will be amazed by the calmness and tranquility of the jungle. The cicadas are non-stop singers and dont forget the more ofen than not, campers best-friend, mosquitos! The place also has a site where you have to climb to the top of a hill (not that high, no worry) by using a rope to witness such a perfect view of a magnificient landscape (maybe that's too much). But it was a wonderful experience to me. You are about to sense a revelation of a supreme power! See you there. bye.

Anyway, I am totally confused with all this blogging thing. I somehow lost my invitation from Mr. G...he..he...it is because i accidentally deleted it. Last friday was cool and fun, everyone was screaming and stabbing each other without mercy.This is awesome ya!? Dihah and I are very happy and excited when our game was picked into the top 8. This is overwhelming since i was dead sick last friday and broke at the same time when we were discussing about the game...and we came out with something fresh and exciting.Not bad for someone who had a fever and cold. Anyway, it was rather funny to find that some of us have the gut to form invisible alliance during the presentation..I mean like..hello!!?it is so obvious!Even a blind person can see something fishy is going on.I was pretty dissapointed at first but I forced myself to cool down(You guys know just how kiasu i am)and accpet my fate..But when the points has been counted and Mr G picked our game....I was so happy....By the way, I do hope this comments can be viewed by others as I don't want to missed the deadline to publish mine...So, I hope to see some comments from you guys......Give me some space guys.......I can't wait to go to the camp by the way.And I'm in the last camp trip....I can't wait to witness the fun,blood,gore..etc..blah..blah....as long as i'm with my great bunch of coursemates....I love you guys.....really..!?

hello friends!!!! what's up???? doin' good everyone???? just wanna share with all of you guys about the preparation that we've made so far for our language camps....
the tentative is the most important thing to prepare first of all...for the first language camp, the tentavi already prepared... the second thing is the activities that going to be conducted in during the language camps.... the activities would be the games... there are 8 games thatr have been chosen by mr. G to be the activity... as well as the morning and evening exercise... we have decided the treasure hunt to be the evening exercise.....
the facilitators' manual, the learning journal for the participants and the programe books are among the most important stuff for the language camps.... fortunately, all of these are almost ready by now.... things to be included in the three books are also been decided very very carefully...a lot of meetings have been conducted to decide on what to include in the books.... all of the facilitators are also given smaller tasks.... to manage on the language camps itself, food manager, the registration manager, the medical manager etc.... these manager have to make sure that their tasks would run smoothly on the language camps....
tag for the langauge camps must also be prepared... for our langauge camps, it it prepared by adam.... the banner as well must also be prepared...megat in charge of the design of the banner... t-shirt is prepared by hep....
i think that's all for the preparation for the language camps.... and hopefully, we can work together...TOGETHER AS ONE.... please correct me if there's a mistake,okay....

Iam anticipated about the language camp. This would be my first and I want it to be an interesting experience. I belive we could make it happen. I have not think of a game yet for the second camp but whatever it is, games such as language-centred type are quite easy to think of although you need to bear in mind all the grammar and reguulations of English. The game needs to be carefully constructed from your thoughts. Think about FUN and LEARNING at the same time. No need to worry so much about the syntax or semantics (altough I really think of these two!) and most of all think about the happiness that will come at the end of the game itself, where glory and victorious cheers would be heard in the air across the boundary of impossibility of the fact that says English is hard!. "Winning is everything" like they say, is this true or how many of my beloved classmates agree with this? As for the upcoming second camp (Syarul will be in charge..take note thank you.) I believe learning is everything BUT in an interesting strategy and thoughtfulness. WQE had palnned the committee for the second camp and i pary to God it would be wounderful and exclusively exciting!..like a lyric by Melanie C saying,"YEH!YEH!YEH! IAM ON A MISSION,YEH!YEH!YEH! Actually, I was a bit disappointed because I didn’t attend the first meeting. It’s not because I don’t want to, but I was not being told. Thank God, they’ve put me in the first trip. If not, I’m going to fight for it. I heard from one of the group member that I will be paired with Siti Naterah as a facilitator during the language camp. I love to work with her compared with the other person. Shahrul, our Director works very hard and always works on time. Mr. Ghazali had asked us to create a game that can be used during the language camp. I was glad to know that mine also had been selected. On the 4th of July, we had practice the games together for about three hours started from 3 p.m. this is to identify which parts that had to be improved. Mr. Ghazali had informed that the students who are going to attend the language camp are mostly low proficiency level. Therefore, we must use simple vocabularies during the game. Most of the games are based on the group work technique. In my opinion, all the games are very interesting and everybody will love to learn English by using it. I gave my lesson plan and the list of materials of my game to Kenneth last Thursday.
After this, I hope anybody from the first group can inform me whether they going to make a meeting or any kinds of discussion. I asked one of them the reason of not informing me about the meeting and the answer had just broke my heart!. I don’t like to feel like I was being ignored by them. I miss my friends (my batch) so much. They were very supportive and an open minded person. I don’t want to be an emotional girl. So, bye.

our gameplan story

Hi guyz! Gee.....i don't know if this is going to work in my blog but here goes nothing. it was Monday, 30/6. Another 2 days to prepare our game and yet Pinah and I were still figuring out what kind of game would be best presented for the language camp students. after class that day, we went to the multimedia lab to check out whether the Internet could provide us with any last minute genius idea. my computer went slow, but luckily Pinah's didn't so she managed to save a few games. Back home that nght, we checked the games and it seemed that most of the games had something to do with flip cards. We were not that interested, so we started to think of other games. Suddenly, Pinah came up with this "Add One More' game. the game is simple. It's about spelling and all you need is mahjong paper and marker pen. We worked for hours to finish the gameplan, another 2 days that's why! iI's kinda hard to explain it here, but i guesst he game exhibition on last Wednesday helped us a lot.....and yes, our game was chosen for the language camp. Although it was a truly last minute job we were glad everything turned out to be just fine. Finally, for those of you who gave us two marks, mmmwah....love you guys! heheh, bye.

hi!!how are you guys....i'm now quite busy with a lot of things....PSM...class...test....puan azian...opss....but...i'm still survive...:)...hm..as you know,i'm also quite busy preparing for language camp...this is my third language camp and forsure it will be more exciting for me because for this time the participants are from first year UTM student....i've been to two language camps before, but those two were for primary school students and this one is for the students who are about my age....fuhh!!forsure you can guess what i'm think?!but.....inshaallah....i'll try my best....hopefully this language camp will be the best for me and all my friends...and forsure it will give us a lot of experience before we grad....

Hello everyone! This is Madihah here. I went through many difficulties trying to figure out where should I go and what am I suppose to do here. Anyway, since I am already here, it would be nice if I can tell you, out there a little bit about myself and my experience going to my first language camp ever. Frankly speaking, I am not much of an outside activities' person. Until now, I did not involve much with the university's programmes. During week days I go to class and during my weekends, I just hang around and relax myself at home. Basically, that would be my everyday routine. However, I did join a few programmes that I heard students in universities would normally do or involved in. For example, I went to a "Khidmat Masyarakat" programme once when I was in third year. But of course, that was compulsory for one of the courses that I was taking at that time. Anyway, it was done in Felda Cahaya Baru, Pasir Gudang and it was a kind of activity where you would heve to stay with your foster parents for 3 days and 2 nights. It was okay, but I did not feel really comfortable living with people I didn't know. But, I think I fitted in quite nicely. The next big event that I was involved in was SUKAM whereby I represented Kolej Luar to play volleyball about two years ago. Our team actually did a good job cause we won the gold medal at the time. Although people might think that that was nothing, I was still proud with it. I think I have written so much things here. I will continue my story and go into details about my experience in Kluang next week. So, if you are one of the readers, thanks a lot and wait for the sequel of this story later. Bye!!!

hi guys! today's weather is extremely nice and cooling. well a good day to play our games though. by the way, keep up the good work ya for those who were not selected! don't think that your game is not good but there is always room for improvement ok? as for my group as well! rite evette? anyway, let's just hope that today afternoon there will be no more rain so that we can conduct the game at taman tropika. ya talking about taman tropika, it's quite a nice place to visit though. for those who haven't visit i think it is recommended to go coz you will see beautiful flowers, leaves, trees,etc anything lar you can find there even cats!! a nice place to take photos too! and so we did! so i guess let's join our hand to make this language camp a success ya! good work and nice games everyone! chaos!

ok, straight to the point, i'm now quite busy preparing for the coming language camp.i only have one week to go...well, as for my task, i have to take care of the food for the participants, that's mean i have to make sure that the food will be serve at a right time. also i have to be in charge for preparing students' journal.i have to create the booklet for them...collect all the facis full name and their email addresses and more, i have to submit it tomorrow! phew! and for my task during the camp, apart for being a facilitator, i have to collect their journals...make sure they write and send the journal so that other facis (I guess) can have a look at their journal.

i also went to kluang last 21st and 22nd of June..it been organized by the JKM of KTC. Frankly i really enjoy during the camp. by the way the name of the program is "esurca"-english survival camp.it was my first time actually to conduct the students that about my age for the language camp. as u know, before this we only been as a faci for the school children.yeah, i think all of us did a good job..all of them also seem enjoy with the program.

ok, i think that i have 'over write' here...it must be more than 100 words(just count if u didn't believe it!). ok, i really pray for the best for the coming language camp that will be held at gunung ledang (if i'm not mistaken ;cause until i'm not confirm yet about the venue for the program). see ya next time

I am off to Gunung Ledang today. No, I'm not looking for the Princess of the mountain. I wanna survey the place before we go there next week. 2 weeks from now exactly. People from Unit P n P, Miss Fatimah and maybe Aishah will be going also. Ta ta.

Wow, this is really hard though! So many steps and problems happened to me in order to get into this gameplan. Anyway i'm glad to be able to join you all out there! Yeah!!! Well, getting ready for the new challenges in the future people? Whatever obstacles or problems that we face, let's just don't give up easily for I believe our God will help us through ya! Since we'r coming up with new things and also involving ourseves with technology... i think we do need to develop ourselves with this therefore we need to develop in computer competence... not just language competence... we need to make a difference in our society now and 'science and technology' is putting us behind.
How about the materials found in the market that can be used in our classes? where are they? Its very hard to find good language softwares that can be used in our classes. Take for example literature can we find softwares to teach literature in classrooms? i don't seem to find any around here and most softwares available are not suitable for classroom teaching. For may assignments we have to come up with language softwares (this is especially for computer subjects) why don't we compile or maybe create a new literature software for teaching literature... wouldn't it be worth for us to use in ur future classroom activities? What do you say?

ESURCA!!!!!!=)

Hey guys!!!!! What's up???? doing busy with all the camps right now???? just wanna share some experience with all of you guys.... on the 21st and 22nd, i've went to kluang with another 5 teslian friends.... reason????? well, we were the facis of a language camp, the name was ESURCA.... that stands for English Survival Camp.... this camp was organized by Biro Akademik JKM KTC.... and they invited the 6 of us to be the facis.... the facis????? aishah, zam, diyah, megat, dihah and myself.... there were about 50 participants altogether and they are from the first year, second year, third year and fourth year....at first, i was scared ya know... i've been to two language camps before, but those two were for standard five and six primary school students and this one was for the students who are about my age.....that scare me... yeah, we've been to practical teaching but then the age is still the problem.... but then, after actually going to the camp, i found out that this was the best camp i experienced..... between this language camp and the language camp for the primary schoo; students, it was totally different, from the way you handling the students until the activities that hav4e been set up for them.... hm, talking about the activity.... we got interesting activities ya know.... there were two mock meetings, a sketch, an advertisement, cheer etc.....the activities that have been set up were very different from the previous language camps... and from the participant's jurnal, i know that they had enjoyed themselves very very much, and so do we, the facis..... all of us had a very good time there, and i glad i went....
seems a lot for you guys to read, huh!!! but you know, 100 words...hehehe.....ok, hope you'll comment...my marks rely on you....=)

First of all Hi to everyone! Second of all...i am going to the Language Camp! Not one but TWO...yup, two Language CampS....! There will be a meeting with En Faruk this afternoon so guess my role today is to absorb as much info as i could (much like a sponge i guess!) Then for the 1st camp....like all of us...i will be one of the Facilitators....guess my role would be-1.Motivator-to motivate these students to do the best as we are not here to judge but to have fun! 2.Confidants-As someone to listen to their difficulties in learning English and to share with them my way of learning English (As my English was and is still not perfect!) 3.Observer- To observe the progress of these students and the whole program in general in generating a clearer picture of the influence and advantages of laguage games in helping poor learners of the language to achive the desire motivation and awareness toward the learning of English.(Phew! Now thats is a mouth full!) I will see how my roles will play apart in ths language camp and hopefully before the next camp i will be able to re-evaluate my roles to enhance my responsibilities the next time around!

Language Camp Projects
Location: Sekakap, Mersing, Johor
Participants: UTM First Year Students.
Dates: 11-13 July 2003, 15-17 July 2003, 22-23 July 2003.

We will do the language camps at Sekakap Mersing.

The participants of your Language Camp will be year 1 students, UTM.
