My Reflection of the Language Camp (Fatin)

Hye and Greetings everyone,

Waiting for the negotiation camp to end was nerve-wracking and finally we have finished the language camp. Congratulations to all Phoenixers (the name that we decided to call ourselves since 4 year ago) for all the effort and teamwork in making sure this camp goes smoothly. Well done people! J

Indeed, there are many things which still need improvement. Firstly, I was frustrated with our PA system because sometimes the mic did not work properly. Hence, the games’ instructions given to the participants were not clear. Yet, since the facilitator worked very hard to comprehend all of the games, our negotiation camp was able to go smoothly. On the other hand, I think every student participated well in the games even though there was some times where some of them lose focus. Yet, I think most of them had fun in each game. Moreover, I was a bit frustrated because we weren’t able to sing some of the songs since it would be really fun for participants and facilitators as well as help in boosting the participants’ motivation to participate in the activities of the camp.
I was assigned as the game master for Weretiger and I was really nervous to instruct and conduct the game. I believe all of my classmates eye-witnessed my nervousness throughout the camp. In order to make it go smoothly, I’ve been practicing for countless of time and maybe my classmates were a bit annoyed with me always explaining on Weretiger game. Hehe, sorry guys.  And I think it went well even though there were still flaws in my instruction. Thank you Mr G and my fellow phoenixers for the guidance and helps that made it went smoothly. There were few instructions that I missed but my fellow friends were really helpful, they informed me immediately about the instruction that I missed. I really appreciate all of you guys assistance.

Nevertheless, we had so much fun during the camp and our relationship was strengthened because of the camp. Through this camp we gained much knowledge and experience. Plus, we were able to practice our conducting skill as well.  I hope that we will have more opportunity to work together and I’m really looking forward to it. Lastly, thank you Mr G for your support and guidance.

  1. Hi Fatin,

the PA system was indeed a trouble for us. It was unfortunate that we didn't have the time to test the PA system before the camp begin. I notice every game masters had problems with the PA system. They need to repeat their instructions since their voice came out on and off.

However, it was still a good experience. At least now we know that we must never forget to test the PA system before any program.
