For me, I really enjoyed during the
whole language camp, from the start to the end. I love kids as they are little
and cute. Looking at them, I felt no worries at all. I treated this language
camp as a platform to play and engage with them.
At the beginning, all of the
facilitators introduced themselves to the students. Each of the facilitator has
an unique way of introducing themselves. I also like the way of grabbing
students' attention by saying 'hi' and they say 'helo'. It is entertaining
besides drawing attention from them. Perhaps the facilitators for the second
language game may use the similar method. Apart from that, the warming-up
exercises that awoke the students are great in such a way that the students
felt fresher and ready to start the first activity.
Furthermore, I also enjoyed during
students' drama practice. I love seeing them practise according to the script
that they came out with. It was so fun and entertaining. My group got the
'Ghost Story' theme and the main character became the ghost that sucks blood. Another
student became the Bomoh that caught the ghost whereas the rest of the students
became the villagers and passers-by. They were so funny with their costume and
props. They were also excited and volunteered to be the first group to perform
the drama in our zone. During the drama performance, I was really proud of them
too, as they performed very well and the appointed narrator had a loud voice
projection when speaking. We were satisfied as we got the same marks with
another group with the highest mark.
Additionally, the food provided in
the language camp was really nice. There were mihun, nasi ayam and kuih. There
are drinks and dessert provided too.
At the end of the camp, I managed to
take a group photo with my students as a remembrance. Wishing them best of luck
here!
