Question1:Review

Exploring games and education is intrinsically contentious because we are used to characteristically associated games with play and childhood. The task of making use of games to create a fun learning environment can be a challenging one. However, that is not the reason for us to not apply games in the classroom. As what Dede Wilson give explanation on games where, "games that are well-organized can be a valuable way for learners to practice language". So, from his view, we can say that language games is a way for us to create a wonderful environment in language learning but of course the teacher might have to plan and make extra effort to study various types of games as to select the best one that suite with the learning objective. From wikipedia, language game (also called secret language or ludling) is a system of manipulating spoken words to render them incomprehensible to the untrained ear. Language games are used primarily by groups attempting to conceal their conversations from others.
There are ten types of games that we should know before making decision on which game to be applied in the classroom. The first game is the movement game where this games demand us to be physically active. This type of games require more supervision as many possibilities may happen like injuries, tricks and etc besides monitoring the players' language. The second game is the card game where it is about players collect, give away, exchange, sort and count cards that have value or objective to be achieve. The third game is the board game where it mainly involve moving markers along a path. It can be invent as a fun craft activity. The fourth game is the dice game. The six-sided dice is a tool to play a game where it provides the sequence on how and who will start and end the game. As for example, we use dice to play "Millionaire game". The fifth game is the drawing game. This game spans a gap between key functions of the brain. It also promotes creativity and sensitivity towards the subject matter that we study. The sixth game is the guessing games where the guessing game aims to to guess to questions of some kind. The seventh game is the Role-play game where the game can be simple, guided drama activities. This game bulit up confidence among the students and motivate the students to use the language. The eight games is the singing game where this type of game can be a joyful and lively one. This game may require the students to use all their gestures, movement, role play and music. The ninth game is the team game where this game involves cooperative teanwork and last but not least is the Word game where this game plays around on how well the students manipulate words or vocabulary while playing the game.
 
 
There are ten types of games that can be played under the experiential learning.  These games are categorized according to the particular characteristics that they have.

Movement Games
Giants, Wizards & Elves
o         Fun chasing game with suspense, laughter and exercise.  Giant (arms up, roars) beats elf (hands to ears); elf beats wizard (waves wand & "kazaam"); wizard zaps giant.
Card Games
 
Relatively Speaking
o         Participants guess the names written on the flash cards based on the descriptions given.
Dice Games
 
Snakey Feeling
o         Participants role the numbered dice and move the token on the board.
o         They have to speak up on the topic according to the number that they have roled.
Drawing Games
 
Blindman's Turf
o         In pairs, one participant describes the object that was given to him. His partner needs to draw the object according to the description.
 
Guessing Games
 
Hobby by Pantomime
o         In a circle, each person says own name & shows his/her hobby by pantomime.
Role-play Games
 
Vampires
o         Everybody is blind & normal – if normal people meet each other they have to make a sound – but one person will be a vampire (chosen by leader) who doesn't speak. 
o          If you meet a vampire, become a vampire. If two vampires meet, they become normal
Singing and Chanting Games
 
Ha-ha
o         Each person places his head on another person's tummy, so that everyone is connected. 
o         The 1st person says "Ha", then the 2nd person "Ha-ha" and so on. 
o         The goal is to get all the way through the group without anyone laughing; its infectious if someone starts laughing. 
Team Games
 
Dragons
o         Groups of 5 to 8 players – the ending player has scarf like tail – the head of dragon has to catch tail of the other dragon – the dragons can't break
Word Games
 
Whatsitsname?

The games in experiential learning are fun and interactive because the participants learn through first hand experience in doing things. It is a beneficial approach in learning.
