LESSON PLAN Standard: 6 Date: 31 July 2002 Topic: Snake and Ladder (Singular and Plural Nouns) OBJECTIVE By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: 1. identify the singular or plural nouns 2. spell out the singular or plural nouns TEACHING AID 1. Pictures 2. Handout 1: Instructions for the students 3. Handout 2: Gameboard 4. Dice and cubes PRIOR KNOWLEDGE Sudents have basic knowledge about the singular and plural nouns DELIVERY 1. Giving the correct form of the singular or plural nouns 2. Spelling out the singular or plural nouns TEACHER - STUDENT ACTIVITIES Set Induction Teacher shows students some pictures and they are asked to name the pictures. Students are also asked to state if the pictures are in the plural or singular form Activity 1 Teacher introduces the game and distributes handout 1 to the students. Then teacher explains the instructions on how to play the game. Activity 2 Teacher asks the students to get into groups of four or five. Teacher then distributes handout 2, the dice and the cubes to each group. Students are asked to play the game with their group members based on the instructions given earlier. Activity 3 Teacher stops the game after a period of time and asks the students if they encounter any problems during the course of the game. Teacher discusses the problems with the students providing the answers as the last resort if none of the students can solve the problems. CLOSING Teacher ends the lesson by highlighting the singular or plural nouns found in the game. HOMEWORK No homework was assigned to the students.
